It takes around 35 minutes to drive from the hotel to central San Sebastián. We asked the hotel reception for a map and they recommended us where to park close to San Sebastián Old Town which was very useful. They didn't have that much information about which pintxos bar to visit however. It's good to know that some bars are open for lunch and close during the afternoon and open again for dinner. And other bars only open at night. Don't miss these: Bar Nestor (lunch or dinner) http://www.yelp.se/biz/bar-nestor-donostia-san-sebastian-2 Txepetxa (simple pintxos) http://www.yelp.se/biz/txepetxa-donostia-san-sebastián Zeruko (extreme pintxos) http://www.yelp.se/biz/zeruko-san-sebastián Also: Koh Tao (great coffee) http://www.yelp.se/biz/koh-tao-donostia-san-sebastián Arzak - one of the best restaurants in the world - (book FAR in advance) http://www.yelp.se/biz/arzak-san-sebasti%C3%A1n-2 We had room 103 and it was just what we'd hoped. Classic and beautiful but not too much. The bathroom was newly renovated and the sheets were clean. Only thing we didn't like was the home scent they had sprayed in the room prior to our arrival. If you get hungry there's both the Bailara restaurant (by Enrique Fleischmann) and a snack menu in the bar, in the Iriarte Jauregia Hotel buildning. Tip to guests: Book far in advance to get a better rate. Tip to Iriarte Jauregia: You should definately do something about the big electricity pylon in front of the hotel that destroys the view.

The shower pressure was excellent and I loved that the shower handle/controller was by the shower opening instead of under the shower head so you can turn on and adjust the temperature without getting soaked. They provide one bottle of water in the room. Breakfast was standard. We were on a tour so I had no contact with the staff. It is less than 10 minutes walk to old town.

When the time finally came, we checked in and service has been top notch. The hotel is very nice, modern, and clean. It's located conveniently close to the San Fermin activities but not so close that you're overwhelmed. I pre-paid for breakfast which is definitely the way to go as finding food during the festival can be hit or miss. I was having difficulty receiving tickets I had ordered and Martha at the front desk went out of her way, making phone calls on my behalf. She ultimately received my tickets electronically and printed them up for me. When my event came, the ballroom (Salon Belagua) was elegantly decorated. A young gentlemen (his name escapes me) prepped everything and was joined by Mila and Kevin as my guests arrived. Several courses of delicious food and wine kept coming until we just couldn't eat anymore. Everything was amazing! And if this wasn't enough, my wife had a virtual meeting during our sand needed good wifi signal, better than what was available in the room. Technician Victor met with her and tested signal on different networks in different parts of the hotel. He ultimately set her up with a table next to a wifi antenna inside an empty ballroom. Talk about service! If I return to the San Fermin Festival, or the Pamplona area in general, I will definitely stay here again.
