We usually book a room with a terrace and a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. The room is smaller than a terrace though. And I guess they need to do something with their mattresses, they are not corresponding to the 5 star hotel at all - too firm and not comfortable. Room service is expensive, but as we are in France - very delicious and sophisticated. They have a Michelin Star restaurant downstairs which you have to book in advance for dinner or lunch. Lobby Bar. There is an outdoor tiny swimming pool with sunbeds. The best thing there for me is a beach. They don't have one, but if you walk out there is an access to the sea- you'll see there is an authentic tiny place on the rocks where people lay enjoying sun or swim in this deep blue sea. If it's not stormy only, there are rocks, be careful when get in the water or go out of it. But I guess that kind of activity is not very popular with hotel guests. Self-parking on the property.

After…read morestaying in hotels on the Vieux Port for every previous visit I finally took a local's advice and booked a room at this modest seaside hotel with sweeping 180 views and the sounds of waves lapping while you sleep. So gorgeous was the view from my room that I almost felt guilty being there on business! I quickly got over it, when I realized that on a Wednesday afternoon the beach next door (yes, next door!) was packed with locals soaking up the indian summer rays. In Marseille (I am quickly learning) when the weather rocks (which is often the case) it's hard to think of anything but dropping everything you're doing and heading to the beach. So in between appointments I snuck in a little "reconnaissance" excursion to the beach next door just to get a true feel for the place. So, back to the hotel. I both love and hate the fact that this hotel is so modest in terms of looks and services. I mean with its location, they could invest a few thousand euros and make the hotel in a snazzy boutique number and charge double what they do. But this is Marseille, and snazzy is not what this city is about, which is why you can find a seaside room here like I did for less than 100E a night. My double room was up on the third floor, which meant great views, but a high climb up the stairwell with suitcase in tow since there is no elevator. The stairwell and hallways could use a good paint job in one unified colored as opposed to the chipped kaleidoscope of colors their currently in. The bedroom itself was small, but had all of the essentials (except a full-length mirror), including a nice bathtub, very comfortable bed, small desk and TV. In addition to the steady WiFi and fabulous outdoor dining terrasse where you can work and/or eat in the sunshine, I can't think of a better bang for your buck in town.

I must admit that my expectations weren't that high when I booked my 79€ room. I assumed that it would be fine, nothing more, nothing less. Things got off on to a jolly start when I swung by an hour before check-in, expecting to have to wait in the lobby, but was warmly greeted and told that I could head upstairs right then because the room was ready! This extra hour to freshen up before some meetings was a life send. And then when I asked if there was WiFi, the woman at the desk took pen to paper and immediately wrote down the free code. Hellooo, love this place already! But that was only the beginning. Then, when my meetings at a cafe later that afternoon suddenly turned sour because the WiFI that was a crucial part of my presentation, died, I called the hotel and asked if they had a meeting room free where I could continue my presentation and they said YES, that they did, and since I just needed it for an hour, that I could have it for FREE even though it usually costs like 400€ a day!! Now that's hospitality for you. In addition to that miracle gesture of kindness, the hotel checks all of the boxes that make for a great stay: super central location, quiet room, spacious room layout, pleasant interior design, full bathroom, cool bath products (Anne Semonin, thank you very much), friendly, competent staff and...drumrolll please....a jacuzzi bathtub! I rest my case, this place rocks!!!

Had a little trouble finding parking for this hotel-as they do not provide a parking structure, and we had to find one nearby. Luckily it seems the hotel has a deal with the parking structure at which we parked, so we got a lower rate for the overnight parking. When we checked in-the reception was very helpful, providing us with a map of the city and even bumping our hotel room up from a 2 person room to a 4 person room for free so we could have extra room! The rooms were very nice and clean-a small upset was the hassle of having to redo the wifi login/registration every four hours-but at least the wifi was free.

I am astonished this hotel is part of Oceania Hotels Group, and is being sold by booking.com…read more The hotel is filthy. Rooms smell of sewage. Elevator is dicey. I should have known when I had to pay, in advance, something was wrong. The photos posted must have been taken years ago because they are not accurate now. The only bright spot in this abysmal place is a lovely young lady called Annabelle. She tried her best to help me. I hope a wonderful hotel chain or high end hotel scoops her up. She would be a valuable asset and is totally lost in this hotel which reeks of sewage. Of note, the manager Celine Pariente has challenged my review with Oceanus Group stating we were upgraded at no additional charge and she stated the smell was gone after the first night, which is absolutely false. Also Ms Pariente did not take into consideration I booked a Superior Double Room with Twin Beds however we were given a room with one small bed. I went downstairs to determine why and was told there was a plumbing issue so the accommodation I booked and prepaid wouldn't be available until the next day. The lovely staff member on duty, Annabelle, offered the Deluxe Room because it had a larger bed at no additional cost. The photos are self explanatory. Every time we entered our room the smell of sewage assaulted our nostrils. Of note, the first room we were given the toilet didn't flush. On our second night we returned from an amazing tour of Cassis and Aix en Provence to find the elevator wasn't working, this was 730pm. My friend's birthday was June 3 and we were to have a celebratory dinner but canceled as climbing 4 flights of stairs would have been extremely difficult for us. Instead we went to a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal. We were pleased to find upon our return from dinner the elevator had just been repaired, in fact the elevator technician was still on site at 11pm. I paid extra for a buffet breakfast for both days and informed them I am a Celiac therefore I must be Gluten Free. At our first breakfast a lovely lady presented me with a GF roll. With our second breakfast we were met by a sullen young lady who growled when I asked for hot water for my tea. Needless to say I didn't receive a GF bun. Lastly, the hotel is dirty overall. At one point she must have been a Grand Dame but currently she is past her prime and suffering from extreme neglect with current management.
