In searching for Villa Comunale I unknowingly made my way to Villa della Vittoria first, then realized my mistake. The sun had almost set though thankfully I managed to catch the last glimpse of its orange embers from this vantage point too.
This location's line of sight allows you to see a tad bit further west, and you're directly above the central area between the Marina Grande and Marina Piccolo. The views are spectacular, maybe even a little better than from Villa Della Victoria a couple blocks away.
The park's green space is includes sections of green lawn that wraps around the edges of the Chiostro di San Francesco, a 14th century Franciscan monastery that now serves as an event space and art gallery. There are a few early 20th-century busts scattered around the park commemorating local figures like musician Salve D'Esposito and magistrate Francesco Saverio Gargiulo.
Wasn't there for long since the monastery building also closes by 7pm, though really felt lucky to catch a beautiful sunset here! read more
