Breathtaking view with long gorgeous pistes that are catered mostly to intermediate skiers made this my favorite ski resort. The spectacular panoramic view of the Alps exceeds Obereggen and Alta Badia by far, it's hands down the best scenic resort. It's probably one of the most popular ski destination with the possible celebrity sightings such as F.Alonso, Massa, Valentino Rossi who are some of the regulars. With 19 lifts (5 gondolas, 12 chair lifts, 2 surface lifts) the resort offers skiers an incredible 1000 metres (3281 feet) of vertical descent and has 35 pistes with a total length of 60 kilometers. I snowboarded here during the week of Xmas from Dec.23 to Dec. 28 and I cannot ask for any better time to come here..... the pistes were almost empty!!! Since most people prefer to stay home with their family during the Xmas week, we got such an amazing deal for 4 nights stay with 4 days ski pass, breakfast, and 3 course dinner for only 420 euro from a nearby hotel (Hotel Canada)!! However, starting the 28th the pistes were getting crowded and the price hiked. I would definitely go back again...... I can't wait!!!!

Hands down, we would put Locanda San Vigilio at the top of our favorite places to stay AND eat. The hotel has been in the same family for over 500 years, always a hotel and if our experience is evidence of the hospitality, always wonderful. The location could not be better as it is perched on a point, surrounded by water on three sides, on Lake Garda. Beautiful. The service is impeccable. We were greeted by the current owner/manager who welcomed us in the parking lot and escorted us to reception where all details were handled with efficiency and a smile. It made no difference who we encountered the interaction was always friendly. Imagine the best meal you have ever enjoyed, now double it. That was our experience in the restaurant. They have set my new standard for pasta, there is no way to describe how delicate my ravioli was, sublime. When we left I felt like we were leaving family behind. I would return in a heartbeat.

It was not possible to sleep in that old, hard, unclean thing. It was horrible to find a parking place. The hotel one was to full and arround was no free and legal one to find. The "free" internet works only for 3 hours. Everything is without any love. At breakfast you felt like an animal in feed. Only bulk products, watery orange juice and tinned fruit. It was one of my worst stay in a european 4-stars Hotel.
Good clean hotel…read more Rooms quite modern look like they have been recently renovated. Only negative was the safe which was quite small and in the bottom of the wardrobe. Old style so you need to carry a key all the time and location makes it difficult to get in to ( I dropped the lid on my hand twice during the week). Rest of room good standard though. Aircon works well which is essential for the summer. TV only has news channels in English but never really found the time to watch it. Free wifi but from reception only. Drinks quite expensive EUR5 for a large beer, Supermarket nearby and minibar to keep drinks cool. Good location, easy walk along promenade into Bardolino. Some nice walks along the seafront to Lasise or Garda or hire a bike and cycle further. Use of the Mirabell lido across the promenade allows you to use a lilo near the lake free of charge and swim in the lake. Drinks cheaper there too. Nice large outdoor swimming pool for summer and smaller indoor one for winter. Gym looked good with modern equipment but did not use it. Restaurants have limited opening times so not a lot of flexibility when eating for dinner Limited vegetarian options not available in the Gourmet restaurant. Lunch good at grill bar so recommend swapping dinner for lunch which you can do if on half board then eat out for dinner. Staff friendly All in all recommended

There are so many gluten free options on the menu my daughter and i ate here exclusively during our stay. The staff are trained to perfection. Hotel / spa is located on the northern side of Sirmione, close to Grotte di Catullo and far away…read morefrom the city noise. Everything is pretty much as advertised and/or expected: lake view room actually has the lake view, beds are pretty good (on the firmer side), breakfast is also good, in the evening the on-premises restaurant serves robust if uninspiring dinner. I did not try the spa. Some logistics: 1) To reach the hotel, you will have to drive through a maze of very narrow and winding streets, this course is gated with the guard checking your name against the hotel guest list. While driving, few times you will wish that you car is smaller and shorter; a good navigator will come especially handy, as some streets are one-way or impassable for cars - but not clearly marked as such. Red/green traffic lights mark the (short) one-way passages, at night the lights blink yellow allowing to cautiously proceed. Getting out of the hotel in a car will take up to 15 minutes to the nearest major road, depending on the tourist crowds that share the streets with you, and will not be possible at all during the daytime on weekends. Couple this with the limited parking at the hotel and the choice of walking becomes very enticing. 2) At the breakfast time, be assertive with the waiters in order to get your coffee/tea in a reasonable amount of time.

The Villa itself looks historical and surreal. The property is very big and will take your breath away-beautiful flowers, lash grass, old trees-all surrounded by old little buildings, structures, ponds and statues. The location is perfect- right on the lake with it's own jetty and beach. The hotel has several bars and restaurants. We tried them all and both the decor and the food were absolutely the best. The complimentary breakfast buffet had the true five star selection-berries and tropical fruit, large selection of honey, cheeses, yoghurt and dozens of freshly baked pastries; not to mention the delicious coffee. The lunches and dinners were expectedly pricey but also very delicious. The room overlooked the lake and you could also see the Sirmion Castle towers. The customer service was top notch. The private parking was very convenient and they provided shuttle service into town or throughout the property. We will definitely be back.

It is most likely my favorite hotel in the entire world. The decor is beyond breathtaking with painstakingly created murals, authentic roman statues and gilded chairs. The piano player is delightful and everything about this hotel will make you feel like a participant in a fairy tale. Their breakfast buffets are also amazing.
