Sadly, this restaurant is not opened daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We went last week (mid-December on a Wednesday evening) and discovered that they were closed. The outdoor seating (within the Atrium) is beautiful, perfect for social photos, and intimate despite being in he main atrium. Our server was pleasant and on top of everyone's needs. We were on the Gaylord Property and did not want to leave to eat. This buffet looked interesting and it turned out to be wonderful. There were top cuts of beef and chicken, wonderful roasted vegetables, and the garlic mashed was amazing. There was all kinds of comfort food like mac & cheese and the pasta bar. There was a lot of fresh fruit and a variety cheeses. So many desserts and served in small sizes-so you could taste them all.The atmosphere was amazing as you felt like you were sitting outside but were protected as you were in the atrium. We were so disappointed on our first visit since this buffet re-opened. It seems the offerings are not as bountiful as they used to be. The salad options have really dwindled. For the price of $40 (dinner), we were expecting more. However, soft drinks & coffee are included in the price. They have also done away with the dessert area that included ice cream. They do have a dessert bar with about 5-6 small options. They have the same string lighting overhead, but the bulbs are very bright white, making the ambiance less inviting and the pergola roofing is not as pronounced as before. The atrium inside the hotel is still outstanding and you do see this while you're seated in the restaurant, so that is still very nice. We probably won't be returning, as self-parking is now $35 and valet parking is $50. read more

The food has not been cold, but at a perfect temperature and it is all absolutely delicious with the best variety anywhere. My daughter and her significant other invited me to go out for brunch this morning at Villa de Flora. Self park is $30 but the restaurant will validate your parking ticket. We only had to wait two minutes to be seated at 9:30 am on a Sunday. We were seated out in the open with a view of the atrium and all the hotel balconies which was cool while the buffet was only a few steps away. The selections of entrees and sides was extensive. There was a huge fruit bar and separate pastry bar besides the main entrees. And there was a cook to prepare your custom cooked order. We all made multiple trips and loaded up on all the breakfast goodies. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and one biscuit with gravy. We all agreed the eggs were a tad undercooked. Everything else tasted great. My daughter got some fruit and a cup of yogurt to start off then hit the main items. She said the grits were runny but the pancakes were perfect. This is the breakfast buffet in the Gaylord Palms. We were staying there for my husband's conference and his manager told us it was a good buffet but get there early because it gets really crowded. The whole hotel is extremely crowded so we heeded his warning and got there around 8am. Perfect timing. We were seated almost immediately. A huge line formed shortly after that. The food on the buffet is actually very good. There is lots of fresh fruit, pastries, meats and cheeses or bagel toppings, and traditional breakfast items like bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes etc. There is also an omelet station. They guys at the omelet station were master's at their craft. They did a great job of keeping things moving and making perfect, delicious omelets. The main reason I did not give this a 5 star is that it is way overpriced. It was $70 for two of us and that did not include any alcohol. Normally when I go to a breakfast brunch/buffet for that price I at least get one mimosa. I do have to say that it was better food than the day before at the pool bar though and my husband's coworkers said the sports bar was also just ok. read more

Quotations because it's not actually outdoors. Close your eyes and you'll think you are! We've eaten here every time we've stayed at Gaylord Palms; whether for brunch or dinner. The service we received this weekend was up to par of past experiences. Same goes for the cuisine served. Mostly, it's coming to grips with the sticker price. $32 for adults and $17 for kids during brunch, $50 for adults for dinner. Are you paying for ambiance or quality of food? I'd probably be less hard on a place if the dollar value was significantly less. But when you have a group of 8, things add up quickly, and there's nothing wrong with wishing to being blown away food-wise. Night one we dined for dinner. The buffets aren't self-serve anymore, or at least during COVID as I pen this review. We started with meats, cheeses, breads and accoutrements. All in all, pretty solid. For mains, the carving station made an appearance. I felt the steak to be overdone, but the flavors were there. Brunch was also pretty good. The servers at each corresponding station fill up your plates with whatever your heart desires. I was feeling eggs, bacon, potatoes and sausage. Little packets of sauce are available from the staff. Unlimited refills of coffee. All crowd pleasing, but not worth the price tag. Like I alluded to earlier, Gaylord Palms has created an atmosphere unlike any hotel I've been to. And maybe that's why it's so expensive. But I'd be remiss if I didn't point out I could find better eats for at least half the price within a few miles. We ate here for dinner during our stay at the Gaylord Palms after reading all of the positive reviews, but I am guessing the breakfast must be better than dinner. I was a little surprised at how bad the buffet was since it was packed every time we walked past it. I guess some people prefer quantity over quality. The salad and charcuterie were both disappointing and many of the entrees were dried out from sitting out too long. Dessert wasn't even edible and was a lackluster selection of mousse and pudding cups. The only item worth mentioning on the dinner buffet was the shrimp and grits, but the portions were so tiny that I had to go back for seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths because there was only one shrimp on each plate. Both of our toddlers ate for free, but they barely touched the food so it really wasn't worth eating here since the adult buffet price was expensive. Recommend dining at Old Hickory Steakhouse or Moor instead if you are looking to have dinner at the Gaylord Palms. read more

We're here for Best Buy Achievers, a trip that my husband won through work. I had previously been a patron of this restaurant for dinner probably 18 years ago as part of my own work function. I have fond memories of eating here and really enjoying both the food and atmosphere. We were really excited to find out that our lunch vouchers provided by Best Buy included lunch here. Overall we enjoyed our lunch. They had a decent variety of dishes to choose from. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food served. A lot of it was over seasoned in my opinion. The pizza was very salty, and the eggplant parmigiana had way more meat in it than i prefer. The deserts were decent and 3 out of the 4 we tried were tasty. Would I pay the $30 per person at lunch for this meal if we had a choice? I don't think I would honestly. Had dinner with my family at Villa de Flora and it was great! Make sure you have reservations! It can get very busy, esp with all the conferences! The price for dinner is $45/pp. It includes soda, coffee, etc. Just not alcohol. The breads, cheeses, spreads, cous cous, salads.. great way to start the meal! I tried the Moroccan chicken, rice, salmon and potatoes and they all were great. There were several other options available but every time I went to try it they were out. The dessert buffet is great, but here is my one compliant. Sooooo many kids were just reaching their hands and grabbing desserts. Unattended and not using the tongs. I think there should be a certain rule that under 10yo or so a parent should accompany the child to the buffet. I will definitely be back! read more

The line was chaotic with a line for walk ins and a line for reservations. (We got smart and started booking it on opentable for the next day). They asked if you wanted to take a picture outside (looks like your kids are in the book Elf on the Shelf). Only issue is that when you're eating, they come around and ask if you want to buy it. Just give us a few minutes to settle down first. Sit in the atrium bc some of the tables inside didn't have much light and you feel a draft so it's cold! Buffet style so you can imagine what types of food they served. Sausage, bacon, assortment of pastry items and fruit. What was disguising was when people in line are grabbing sausage and placing it on their plate then decide they don't want it and put the sausage back. This is one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of buffets, that and people are coughing all over the food. I usually go to the omelette line where I met Timothy from Ohio (working on Christmas Day and the day after). He was really nice and didn't complain when oil splattered on his arm - sorry, that was my egg white omelette you were making. We joked about the bacon bc I was eating egg whites (healthy) and bacon (not healthy). I smelled bacon so I had to give it a try. They made it crispy just the way I liked it. You take a bite and it's so brittle it breaks in half. Love bacon and need to get back to running after my vacation is over. Also, the coffee wasn't that great or you can pay for a cup of coffee at the coffee shop for a huge mark up. They had a character dining set up every day and people complained so much that our last breakfast was switched to MOOR if you didn't want a character dining experience. Seeing Elf on the Shelf everyday wasn't worth the added cost. Even though breakfast was included with our room, they mentioned we had to come between 6:30-8. Do you think our kids can wake up that early? Nope, plus we're an hour behind so our kids were waking up an hour later. read more
