This company's speech therapy department said they will take on my son's case and then stopped returning my phone calls. These therapists are supposed to be professional and college educated but are anything but professional. I never had this experience working with any speech pathologists in my entire career working with the special needs community. read more

I had a bad experience at villa I got harassed by the staff at cip on my last day I was forced to work by myself for 2 hours straight without taking a break bc my knees where hurting bc I can't stand for a long period of time the staff Corey was yelling at me bc I did my work she didn't realize that my knees are different then others within the program that I was in bc they yell at the clients for no reason and I lost my mind on my last day. Perla was a joke as a supervisor at villa for cip bc she didn't do anything about it they forced the clients to spend money every Friday for movies bowling fishing and party's and half of the clients didn't have the money for fun Friday and they expect us to do what they want it's not fair for the clients. The church that we went to had the responsibility for us to clean the church on Tuesday and Thursdays for 2 hours they made us garden there plants clean the interior of the church they had no ac on inside on hot days. We had to work out every day and take us to the mall every 3 days and I had to deal with the pain and suffering that they did on me read more

I wish I could give them a 5 because I love the staff and the students. But, if I was a parent of a special needs kid, I'd seriously consider a good public school with a verifiably good special ed department. With the exception of a dedicated and deeply human curriculum specialist, the administrators lack empathy and seem to be lost in paperwork. Thus, what we have is an institution with a wonderful vision clouded by inept leadership. Ironically, they are building a new administrative wing but could have possibly better channeled the funds into security, decent food, and recreational infrastructure for students who sadly deserve a better place to spend, in many cases, several years of their precious lives. Spoiler alert: I worked there for three months as a substitute teacher and was replaced after being undermined by a disgruntled aide who resented my efforts to humanize an otherwise soulless institution. I did not have clean hands but am writing this review out of respect for what Villa could be, not anger over being lied to and sidelined. I moved to a longer-term fulltime position - but I honestly believe that lack of accountability at the top created an atmosphere where some employees were allowed to underperform, bully, and otherwise damage what should be the premier institution of its kind in L.A. County. Shout out to the remaining aides in my classroom (my accuser was fired): every one a beautiful spirit and incredible friend to the students! read more

Red flag warning , school doesn't have any security. Anyone easily can access school premises. School that does have students with Autism and other disabilities have tendencies to elope. Two years ago a student eloped from school and was lost, every parent's worst nightmare. Thankfully with the help of the police he was found. Mind that the school is located on a busy intersection and a freeway entrance, God was watching over that children he could have easily be run over by a car or abducted. read more

We had this weird teacher telling us our child was telling her things , child was nonverbal but SHE was able to talk to our child! If my child could actually do that I would be delighted to have my child cuss me out. Would take my child for walks alone in the neighborhood which I had to put a stop to, for safety reasons I prefer my child walk with a group, my child can suddenly take off running and I did not want this person around my kid! I complained to the administration about this teacher and nothing was done. Any teacher who lies to a parent about being able to talk to a child who can't talk is a weirdo in my estimation, I worked very hard with my child for years to help with speech but this phony claimed to know my child better than I did! read more

Villa Esperanza is very negligent and they only care about themselves. Their care givers are not even remotely qualified and they do not seem to care about what goes on within Villa Esperanza. They're grossly negligent and they don't take proper care of the disabled nor do they do any proper progressive therapy. Avoid at all costs! Take your child to another program if possible. read more

My son attended Villa Espereanza's day program and also live in group home. I give it a rating of 1 star. That's only because my son did not die in their care. I have a 25 year old Mentally retarded with autistic tendencies son. Prior to his move to the group home and day program, he was social, able to make oatmeal in the morning and a sandwich for lunch, did his own laundry, bathed himself, brushed his teeth and was able to do some chores with prompting. What I was told by Mr. Damien Lee at intake was that they would continue to work on these skills and to teach him new ones so that he could potentially move into a more independent living situation with a work component. After one year in their care he can no longer do any of the things I painstakingly taught him over 24 years. He has violent outbursts and attacks other clients and breaks things, most notably his glasses,; twice in 3 months. The day program is chaos and the group home has too many communication issues to even start to address. His mattress had a metal rod sticking through it and they still felt that was acceptable for him to sleep on, he would have bruises on him that no one could explain, his toes were smashed. I would pick him up and the staff would be staring at their phones, one staff, Eddie, was a sleep on the sofa and had no clue that I was even there until I woke him to tell him what time my son would be home. As they told me, after the fact, they are all of adult age so we can not tell them what to do. In essence that means they can only insure that they do not burn the house down. They cram them 2 up into little rooms with roommates that may or may not have the same abilities or sensory input expectations. My sons roommate would get up in the middle of the night and eat whatever he could find in the kitchen, without supervision! and the trash was under his bed accumulating for who knows how long! They put an outgoing touchy feely young man in a room with an introvert that preferred quiet and to be alone. AND the food they fed them! bologna sandwiches everyday and iceberg lettuce salads every night with soda! No nutritional value. All I can say is BEWARE if you are expecting them to care for your child. read more

The group homes really are bad, bad, bad. Took my brother out of there but you all should know what goes on in them. NOTHING. The staff are something out of the ghetto and use the house to their advantage. Their homeless friends eat and crash there, there are drugs going on, women that look like hookers are coming and going and they let the clients do pretty much whatever they want. The clients have nothing to do, yell obscenities at each other and annoy the neighbors. I wish they had a program for the clients and better staff. I doubt they ever get checked up on by the Esperanza Management. Like: out of sight, out of mind. Just collect the money and ignore it. I'm surprised the State License Board hasn't heard about this abuse and pulled their license. Yikes..... read more

Was a former employee working there for over 7 years and management is a huge problem they lack professionalism, communication, they do not know how to appreciate their staff and some staff are just there for the pay. they lack supplies that has staff to buy supplies out of staffs pockets. thats too say that the pay is terrible as well. there is not opportunity to get a rise unless the state requires it. Staff go through so much for the pay that they receive. Residential programs need help too the houses are filthy and the pots and pans are terrible that it is difficult to not burn the food. the clients are also limited to a certain amount of food. not to say that the pantry is always almost empty, it leaves the staff stuck figuring how what to make for the clients with only a little amount of ingredients to work with. as a former employer if I had a disabled daughter, son, sibling or any family member i would not send them to villa esperanza services because there is a huge chance that they will regress instead of progressing. don't waste your time in this company read more

I give this place one star because there isn't an option for zero stars. My 21 year old autistic daughter has been wanting to get a job, and we were given a list of places to call by our Regional Center service coordinator that help with job placement and supported employment, and this was one of them. My first conversation was with Michael Green and everything sounded great, so he was going to have someone call and set up a meeting. It took me many follow up calls to get a meeting set up. I was patient at first, because I figured they're busy people. We finally got the meeting, and Michael convinced us to try this job team that he was working with. We had wanted to find something closer to home, but he convinced us that this would be good way to get a job right away, and it would be good work experience to help get future jobs, so we agreed. They wanted to assess her, and I brought her in for the next two days to do volunteer work with an on-site group they have, as well as going to a college they work at. He would call us about the job team after the assessment. Weeks go by and I don't get a phone call. I finally called again(!), and no return phone call. I don't know what kind of program they're running there, but it doesn't seem to be for the benefit of the clients. I don't know if he gets a commission off the work that these people do for him, but he got two days of free labor off of my daughter, and we never heard from him again. I am frustrated and fed up with this place. read more

Love Villa Esperanza Services. They do amazing work assisting people of all ages that have special needs. They have a school, speech center, occupational therapy clinic, 3 adult day programs, employment and residential. The list goes on and on!
