The owner was the person who came to look at the house and give me a quote. I wanted to have the trim painted right away and then have the rest of the house painted next year. He gave me a reasonable quote and some worthwhile pointers for things to have any painter check out on my house during next year's paint job. Bill tells me that all of his painters are his employees, so he's not relying on freelancers who might not meet his standards of quality. That was evident in the person who showed up on painting day. He was professional, kept the workplace clean, and was very thorough. He took the shutters down completely to paint them. The paint job looks great. I have zero complaints about the work or the company and intend to use Brush & Roll again in the spring. I don't receive anything for my reviews.

Our experience with Brush and Roll was extremely frustrating and required far more oversight than…read moreever expected. Communication was inconsistent from the beginning and we were not initially made aware that subcontractors would be performing the work. The project was delayed on the scheduled start date after we had taken time off work to be home for the crew. However, the project manager was able to stop out and do the initial walk through at the end of that day. Once work began, we immediately noticed significant issues. Day 1 we caught workers standing on our air conditioning unit. Damaged siding had been removed as stated per the contract with only 3/4th of new siding being installed on the first day; this created exposed areas despite rain being in the forecast. More concerning the siding that had been installed was installed incorrectly with the siding not splitting studs along with nails missing the studs and not properly securing to the wall. We had to call the workers back out and request them to cover the exposed areas due to the forecast of rain and request that the siding be redone the next day. We also discovered that the wrong paint had been ordered and delivered. We paid an extra $2,000 to upgrade to the prime grade paint and the basic bottom of the line paint had been delivered. If we had not caught it ourselves, the wrong product likely would have been used. The painting was initially done very poorly, with minimal scraping, no apparent sanding, and areas where old peeling paint could still be seen underneath or where freshly applied paint could simply be peeled away. The work order specifically called for preparation steps including chemical cleaning, scraping, feather sanding, and back-rolling/back-brushing, and these were not properly completed. We ultimately had to take significant time away from work to monitor the project, inspect the work, document problems, and repeatedly communicate with management about corrections. To their credit, once we thoroughly walked the project manager through the issues, he acknowledged the problems and agreed that the work was unsatisfactory. The crew then began correcting many of the issues, and they did make progress. However, for the amount we paid and the expectations set in the contract, we should not have had to supervise the project this closely or identify such basic errors ourselves. We expected a professional, properly managed painting and siding project, not one where we had to repeatedly catch mistakes and make sure contracted work was actually being completed. We do not recommend using this company for exterior house painting.

Darrin couldn't find it a few weeks later and ordered the wrong color. He also didn't measure all of the windows on my porch and ordered the wrong size. His solution for that was to add 1x's and 2x's to make the windows fit. Now it looks like a jigsaw puzzle. I also pointed out concerns with siding that was installed incorrectly, the trim that wasn't cut correctly, and the gutters that were leaking. There has been no follow up since the work was 'completed', three years ago. Again, Darrin did great work with the insurance company. The follow through is lacking. And there has been no customer satisfaction after the fact.

Listened to what we wanted and didn't try to pressure us into spending more or upgrading to something out of our budget. I got 5 quotes, and they were not the lowest, but they were not the highest either (much closer to the lowest than the highest). They were the third company that came out and the first to provide a quote. -Never had to call twice or check in multiple times. Our salesperson, the project manager, billing, and scheduling always returned my call, email, or text in a timely manner. They nearly always had an answer for me, and if not, they found it. We were trying to decide between two colors but we wanted to see them on a house. They were able to track down two houses with each color, which was extremely helpful. -Always available for questions and to help clarify what was being done. We even decided at literally the very last minute to have them install an exterior door we had bought. When they got it framed out and installed they realized it was too warped. I got another door, and it had some hidden issues as well. These guys installed three doors in the same spot and never once seemed irritated or annoyed, and the work was perfect. -They referred to their crew by name. How a company treats their employees and contractors is a huge reflection on how they approach the quality of their company, their work, and how they view their customers. More importantly, people deserve respect, and I feel like they give that to their workers and customers alike. One of the other quotes we got, we were told they basically just get whatever crew who is available, and another essentially spoke negatively about their workers. This was a refreshing change. -The crew themselves. They did fantastic work that you can really tell they take pride in. They kept the area picked up, got a lot of work done in a short time, and we are thrilled with the way it came out. No shortcuts or anything halfway, really above and beyond. -Another person came out to power wash, and another crew for the final painting of the foundation, garage door, etc. Also the same level of professionalism. The paint crew even managed to cover/protect the river rock when painting the foundation, which I just assumed would get some paint on them, and again, everything looks fantastic. I can't think of one thing that someone would take in to consideration for a major project like this that these guys did not meet or exceeded our expectations.
