The staff is dressed in a periodic clothing and everyone was extremely helpful and attentive. They easily earned the five stars. Not sure whyt anyone would give them two... Our lunch consisted of: -Chicken soup -Burger and Fries -Veal cutlet with a fried egg on top -Pirogies with apple and cinnamon I will say in a blanket statement that everyone truly enjoyed their meal and we all commented about the freshness and taste. Both kaszas were dry, bland and not well seasoned, and the pork tenderloin was served with a TON of kasza and DROWNED in gravy, possibly to hide the fact that there wasn't really that much meat in the dish. Being polish, I have tasted most of these dishes several times throughout my life and this, except for the krupnik, was just not impressive. You get a lot of food for your money and kasza is very filling, but don't expect a culinary experience.

And I spent an Afternoon inside Tatra National Park in Kuznice. Suggested by AI "Copilot", I turned to this Karczma, which I reached after a 1,8 km walk. The place is suggestive: wooden structure, wooden furniture, soft lighting with candles. In short, a place where one feels like staying and dwelling. Also the welcoming is agreeable, without invadence, in perfect Polish style, but warm. Live Goranco Music completed the plot. Karczma 's menu is an invite to local mountain kitchen, perfect after a walk. I chose with the help of Artificial Intelligence, a really remarkable travel mate for me. And I decided for a "Placek Zbójnicki", "Highlander Potato Fritters" in English, a spectacular dish with potatoes, Oscipek (a smoked cheese from Tatra), beef goulash and pickled cucumber A delightful and really tasty dish. But Polish cakes are delightful: and I couldn't resist from taking a Sernik, typical Polish Cheesecake, served with fruit and ice cream. Delightful. I accompanied all with a tea with dried apple, cranberries (served apart, in a small bowl , to be added after some minutes) and cloves. Perfect for such a dinner. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, the decor is very typical for the mountain region in Poland. Great heavy wooden tables and chairs, wood burning stoves, fireplaces, stone walls. Everything we ate in Karczma was delicious and the portions absolutely satisfying! We tried couple different dishes including potatoes, sausages, goulash, potato pancakes with mushroom sauce! The interior looks like you're having dinner at Babcia's house in pre-war 1930 Poland. It's beautifully carved and traditionally decorated, and a great place to experience traditional Zakopane food. Our guide recommended to start with the soup, Kwaśnica z źerberkiem (pronounced "Fash-neat-sa ", which is a sauerkraut based soup with what looked like pork ribs. It was delicious, but some people might not like the taste of sauerkraut, so if not, this soup is not for you. The next recommendation from our guide was to order Placek ziemniaczany y gulaszem, which is a Hungarian style potato pancake (boiled potato made into a patty and fried) stuffed with meat stew in a mildly spicy tomato based sauce. I prefer regular Polish style potato pancakes that are not made from boiled potatoes, but the sauce that came with the stew made it a good choice. The stew meat was tough and draw, but that is to be expected in a traditional local restaurant. Our guide also suggested Pstrąg which is whole fried trout. The trout was very fresh and it was prepared very simplely and served with horseradish and Lemon. That dish was very good if you enjoy trout. We also ordered Ser zapuekany, which is fried local cheese made from sheep's milk, served with roast potatoes and a cream sauce similar to tzatziki. It was very good if you enjoy the taste of salty cheese, which paired well with the potatoes and sauce.
