Village Berlin is a LGBTQ+ Community in Berlin, I have visited couple local LGBTQ+ communites, they all have their charms. In the short term, Village is a community extented from the Stretch Festival, and main event of the community, it's festival about boby moments and self-love. The community offer various programmes, from yoga, boxing to creative writing. Most of those events are for pay members, they also have few events for non-member, such as Potluck. Or you can just visit the event and pay the regular price to join. If you are member, you can visit 2 to 3 events for free monthly and discount for extra events.
I had visited Village Berlin for quite long time. as member and non-member, I think membership is quite good. I use most of my free events for the yoga class, which i was really good. It really help me to recharge and relax. I had been to other events as well, like the Heart Circle, Movie Night and Potluck. It was really great way to meet people. Personally, I haven't try the Stretch Festival event, But do know people who did. They have only positive feedback about this. I might give it a try one day, it's just a bit pricy for me.
The location also hold the art event - Instinct. This is an art exhibition collects different art pieces from LGBTQ+ artists, it's free to visit.
Compare to most of the LGBTQ+ communities I have visited in Berlin, Village Berlin is quite a unique and caring place, I really enjoy it. Although it required member fee, it still leave possibilities for people with lower incomes to join the community or become an volunteer to help out. Since the association is Self-Run, they do need those membership to pay the bills and keep things running. read more
