When I asked how all those people got ahead of me he said he would put me on the schedule for 8/18. On 8/13 I left a message to confirm the appointment. He didn't call me back. Next day I went to the shop and was told if I hadn't heard anything to the contrary the date was on. On the 16th I got a message saying I wasn't on the schedule. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I don't know what the game is... Murphy's Law I guess.

We called Toyota Care for help. We wound up waiting 3 hours for a tow, but the people at Steve's allowed us to use the lot and the restrooms while we waited. After a ridiculous amount of a wait, Brenda, in the office called the tow company that we were waiting for, and "shook them up". Within 20 minutes the tow showed up. While we were waiting we saw the great body work that they were doing on cars. I would trust these people to work on my car any time. So to be clear, my issue is the service when I arrived and as I was interacting with Mike and I in no way indicated your service was poor. Now your comment stating that I wasn't spoken to "how I would like" implies zero accountability for the customer experience. I would like to have questions answered and be able to discuss the work done on my car as would anyone with the person reviewing it. Your message fails to address that sole issue. Original response: I guess the experience depends on who you are and what you're perceived ability to finance you vehicle is by the employees. I am off for parental leave and just in survival mode as one tends to be in the first weeks and was not wearing my executive suite or clothing, so unfortunately no one would not know that I run a small organization. Apparently that determines the service because when I arrived for an estimate, I was excited because this auto shop comes HIGHLY recommended. I was going to spend several thousand dollars to fix a small fender bender and then ask about detailing services. However I will not be engaging with this organization again because I was treated with such indifference that I can't imagine patroning this organization. When I arrived, and was assigned someone to draft the estimate, I approached this staff member, I believe his name was Mike, and asked questions because I had already gotten a quote. He would not look at the other estimate I had and didn't discuss anything with me. I was told that the price will be the same as the other shops and that I should just check my email for his estimate and we can talk then. I left wondering why I came if at places like Waldron Carstar, sat down with me and went point by point and discussed options and advised me as I asked questions BEFORE and AFTER I received their estimate. They treated me like a valued customer and tried to create a work plan that worked for me as a drop in. I went to 3 other shops and got same day estimates. This individuals quote came 12 hours later. Their work is probably great, but their treatment of me as a customer was disappointing given how much work I was intending to pay for. In my opinion, auto service is expensive but the customer service and care shouldn't be optional because that is essentially the only difference from shop to shop since "it's the same price" according to their rep. Fun fact, their quote was the most expensive quote. Go figure lol Update: The response was "I am sorry the estimator did not converse with you the way you would like." Again, customer service appears optional. My response was as follows when the manager referenced their reputation as well: "I actually came because of the reputation, including the fact that I was looking for detailing estimates as well but I never got to that. Because when I approached your staff and asked questions, again I was told that the price will be the same and that I should just check my email. I've been ranting at some bad local auto businesses today, so to change it up I'll write a postive…read moreone. I've actually used this place twice in the past year. That's not something you want to do, but there it is. The first time, I hit a large buck on Rt 2 while driving home from work. The second time, my wife decided to back into the garage and, well, she didn't make it. The damage was pretty extensive on the deer strike, and not so much on the garage strike. But both times Steve and his Crew did an outstanding job repairing the vehicles. (I was actually hoping the Subaru was going to be declared a total loss, but alas, it was only about 6K of work. See my North End review for more on that). They are very busy, so expect a few weeks to get an appointment. But also expect a perfect repair job when you're done. The first accident was mostly covered by insurance, but the second was out of our pocket. In both cases there weren't any surprises with the billing, and Steve always mentions that until you start peeling things apart you don't know what you're dealing with, so we were prepared if there were.

This is the second time I have used this company and the second excellent experience I have had…read morethanks to Bob, Angie, and the staff of very capable and caring technicians who work here. Someone did small but important damage to my Ford Fusion. It was important because it would prevent the car from passing inspection due to a damaged headlight and fog light. The surrounding sheet metal and bumper had some minor damage, too. It would be impossible to see any sign of the damage or repair. There are other good body shops in the area but Body Works is the best, based on my two experiences.
