Don't waste your time visiting this village - how on earth it became one of the prettiest villages in France is beyond me when you consider the competition. We took the long scenic route from Axat to Mosset, absolutely beautiful but extremely hairy drive. After almost 90 minutes on the road was disappointed to find that the tourist office was closed, as was the perfume museum, and would be for the next 3 hours. Walked round the village which is very easy to get lost in; alleys smelled of urine (probably because there are no toilets in the village), piles of fag ends absolutely everywhere but more off putting are the mounds of dog mess along every street. Ferrule cats and dogs roaming around. Only café in village was closing just as we approached, as was the only shop which was already closed. The perfumed garden was so overgrown you couldn't walk between the plants. Only positive point was that there was plenty of free parking which is why I've given it one star. If you do venture down this way then best to visit Molitg which is a couple of kms further along the road and the views from the grounds of The Grand Hotel are amazing. Eus also worth a visit. But definitely give Mosset a miss, you will be disappointed! read more
