If you have a car or time on a weekend to figure out the public transportation route here, there's a train stop which you can walk to here from the train stop this place was such a great family activity. The history behind this Abbey was great to explore as well as walking around the ruins. There were plenty of places to sit and rest. You can go to the second floor of the abbey where monks used to sleep. We learned about bleeding (which was very interesting) and the timeline of this place really put the abbey and its age into perspective. This place have plenty of places to have quiet time and is a great place for a date if you're ever looking for a date spot.

The little dude is located in the main square or "grand place" and is attached to the town hall or "hotel de ville" which is very centrally located. Its not much to look at; just a little curiousity like the peeing boy up in Brussels, but it is a landmark and is well known in the city. I give it 4 stars because yes, I am a fan of the little dude and also the city of Mons, my adopted home.

This little (compared to many I have visited) chateau has a big history and is still occupied by…read morethe Prince of Chimay and his wife (or so I was told). You can of course take a tour of the chateau. This is done on your own, but you are given an ipad where you follow the map, press the buttons and learn about different aspects of the chateau, as well as the history. Most impressive was the little theater that is located inside. It is used still for musical concerts (classical) and possibly other events. At the end of the tour there is an interesting movie shown in the theater and it is in 3D, which was pretty entertaining. The chateau is worth a visit.
