( i wanna say first that none of these comments are directed towards this particular value village…read morelocation only from my experiences at the other greater montreal area locations :) ALSO.. TRUE dat Laura D. i bought a skirt which had rips up all the seams for $14.99 only to realize when i got hope that it totally wasnt worth it because it said on the tag which the cashiers are supposed to notice that it was a 2 piece and i felt ripped off for the price of my now 1 lonely one piece ripped skirt! also i found a white obviously stained AND children's shirt for $5.99! not cool... a see through belly top for $7.99 which they claimed was a "designer" item. The designer being.. "JACOB" (LOL) these places are supposed to i thought promote recycling but they have things double the price of what you can get them at the dollar store for (like socks and some toys) clothing (for example) a shirt for $14.99 you can get at walmart for 7$ or even 14$ but it is new without stains or possible bedbugs and who knows what else. ( by the way i am not promoting walmart which is a store i actually REALLY hate) ill shop there sometimes for vintage clothing but other wise there are sooo many other great little second hand stores to shop at that put lower prices because they know alot of people who shop there, shop there because they have a very tight budget and these places are usually non profit, unlike value village which only cares about money money money! =) also laura.d its cool what you said about the purse, and you should go on a little trip to small second hand stores around the country like the boarder of quebec or eastern ontario or any used item places that are in more rural areas for cheap stuff but also if you cruise around these kinda places on garbage day you'lll find tones of stuff to up-cycle and soooo many things that are perfectly fine and useful and shouldnt even be in the garbage anyways thats for your post ,you rock :)

Value Villages everywhere lately have been a huge disappointment to me. I used to shop as…read morefrequently as once to twice a week at Value Village. And I used to purchase about $60 on shoes, clothing, books, and all sorts of accessories. Really anything that I would find that I liked I would not hold back on buying because the prices were very decent. Over the past year and half or more, the prices have gradually gone up so much that I NO LONGER shop there. I find that consignment shops are way more reasonable and have better quality products that Value Village. I will not go back or ever recommend it again seeing that they are really taking advantage of poor people in our communities. They don't pay a cent for any of their merchandise yet somehow they can justify their very high prices for used items which is disgusting. Value Village = valueLESS

Some things were dirt cheap other were too expensive…read more By example: I was really loving a necklace but because it was new, it was 15$ the matching earrings were 6$. 21$ for jewelry is crazy expensive for a thrift store. When you take in consideration that it's one of the first thing you are going to stop buying if you lack money. I was really disappointed to see the quality of the stock taking in consideration what the other thrift stores were selling.

Pretty solid second-hand store for random finds (often a good selection of shoes at a reasonable…read moreprice - i.e. barely used Nine Wests, Aldos or Franco Sartos for $8). The dress section is also worth looking through, and sometimes you can find interesting jewelry. They often seem to get new bulk merchandise from places like Guess on a fairly regular basis, so from time to time you will see a bunch of identical shirts/shorts/whatever on sale for only a few dollars. Same goes for drugstore variety hair products like Dove or TRESemmé (again, all brand new - no defects). Upstairs they have quite a decently sized book selection, which is organized by subject in French, English, and a few other languages (all usually between $1-$4). Other household items are hit or miss, but all are very inexpensive, and sometimes there are some pretty cool finds. Either way, it's fun to look through. Some good vintage furniture finds on the main floor, but again, it's hit or miss. All revenue generated at this store goes directly to the Montreal women's shelter, Le Chaînon. ***CASH ONLY & CLOSED ON MONDAYS***
