I found Village Dry Cleaners on the web doing a google search for wedding dress dry cleaners, not knowing really where to start. It was interesting to see the difference between the other dry cleaners advertising simply 'Dry clean your Wedding Dress' and this site that went into so much detail.
In fairness the detail won me over, and I made a special trip to get a quote(I live quite a distance away), but it was well worth the trip.
Amir, who takes care of the wedding dresses, is completely passionate about what he does. He explains all the options, potential problems and solutions (in my case I had been married 4 months earlier and there was a coating of a clay like substance across the bottom of the dress from the ground where we had the wedding. I had no idea that 'the sooner the better' was important when cleaning dresses as the stain works its way in over time). He fully warned me of the risks, and explained what process he would follow (there are several options, depending on material type etc), and that he would re-do the process as many times as necessary until no more improvements could be made.
Until I handed over my dress, which was hand made from my own design, I hadn't realised just how anxious I would feel. Having been guided through everything though, I was 100% trusting of Amir and let him get to work.
I couldn't have been happier with the results. The dress is as good as new to me and having paid for the extra packaging, it's now also beautifully preserved in a gorgeous box.
I cannot recommend this shop and Amir enough. Informative and transparent in their processes, they are friendly and passionate in all they do. Even watching them serve Customers for normal dry cleaning put them a world ahead of my own local cleaner. Such a shame I don't live close by.
