Lots of vintage items for great prices! Lots dishware and multiple very cool old coffee peculators. We also thought it was very cool that it used to be a Chinese restaurant and some of the décor was still there. Lots of old music items, records, movie stuff, even nice furniture. I love some of the unique art. I wish I had more room in my house for all the cool stuff that we found.

This place is probably the nicest true thrift store we've been in. It's a nice step up from the…read morestandard spot where you find some of what you need and end up wading through a whole pile of crap getting there. In addition to the standard stuff, they've got some glass cases up front where the nicer items live. When we were there they had a couple older books including some first editions. They proclaimed that they have been closing at 4pm every day for the last month and I know down right that was incorrect because they only recently reopened 3 weeks ago. Even still most stores will allow people to continue to shop until they are finished. Don't waste your money here. The employees are extremely rude.

At one point in my Estherville youth, I think this place was Anthony's. Thrifty's has two floors with 6000 sq. ft. of retail space and is filled with gently used merchandise at deep discounts. More importantly, proceeds support ECHO PLUS services for Emmet and Dickinson Counties' people with disabilities. This store also provides employment opportunities for these folks. Program participants sort and hang clothing, price items and clean. In addition, people from the community volunteer at Thrifty's to help keep things going. My Son has never met a yard sale that he didn't love. So as we were recently walking around Downtown Estherville, he made a direct path to Thrifty's Door. I looked around a bit, but quickly snuck out and headed for the Library. The Kid hung around a bit longer, made some friends, and later tried to convince me to buy a few things.
