Food was amazing, and we arrived about 1/2 hour later than our reservation (and before the kitchen closed). We were there celebrating our anniversary, the staff was very accommodating, did not rush us through our meal despite us being the last customers and past closing. Truly wonderful and the food was phenomenal!

Great place for a nice dinner with your partner or friends. The food is delicious and is a BYOB. You do need to pay for parking, unless you willing to walk a few blocks up to avoid parking.

This little gem of a restaurant had been here for as long as I lived in the area for over twenty plus years. I have dine here many times for both lunch and dinner. They never disappoint! Freshest ingredients prepared expertly with artful presentation! Served by very professional waitstaff. I love all my meals here!!!

Finding parking in Ridgewood is very difficult. I was concerned we would be late to our reservation only to find the restaurant to be somewhat empty. Given this was our first time, I was a bit concerned. Ordered tomato soup, baked Brie and crab salad as appetizers. They were all very good and generous portions. The crab salad had a very healthy amount of delicious crabs. For main dish, tried the grouper, red snapper, filet mignon and the seafood paella. The red snapper with pineapple sauce was the best. Very fresh fish pan fried perfectly combined with jasmine rice was perfect. The next best was the grouper. I would say both fillet and paella were good but not as good the snapper and grouper. I recommend this restaurant.

Mojo pork tenderloin, and Sicilian spiced swordfish

My husband and I had dinner here last night to celebrate our 15th year wedding anniversary. This local restaurant has been around for many many years and we had never been. Well now we are thrilled that we have finally gone there. The food was amazing!!! My husband started with the Spanish muscles, which he thought were incredibly delicious and the broth that it came in was superb. Our entrées included the Mojo pork and the Sicilian spice swordfish. Both excellent choices. The only caveat I had on the Moho Park was that the menu mentioned crispy plantain. The plantain chip that was provided was more decorative than anything else. There was only one lonely, Chip. Now I understand why the menu has plantain chip in singular not plural. Tons of beans, but only one plantain chip. I would strongly recommend to the s that he include two or three chips in the plate. But other than that, no complaints and are excited to go back very soon.

Another extraordinary meal at the hands of Kevin Portscher. We ate and drank for 3 hours and I could not think of a finer culinary experience to share with visiting family. Soft shell crab, wagyu beef, pork belly with watermelon, bonito, grouper, seafood crepe, almond soufflé, kale salad, caesars and a gazpacho amuse with gnocchi intermezzo were all perfect. Service was flawless and the added desserts (cheesecake and apple cake) were top notch (see pics). I am floored by how deftly Kevin seasons every dish -- how flavorful and perfectly paired his sauces are with the dishes. The timing on the 5 course service is impeccable. Come here to relax and enjoy your companion(s). His food is a massage for your senses that will upscale your entire experience. In my book TVG is the best restaurant in Ridgewood -- hands down. Worth every penny.

Located in the heart of Ridgewood, this favorite local BYOB establishment has been run by the chef-owner for 25+ years and brings French cuisine to the next level. For some of us, this is a return visit after 2 years. A reservation was easily made for a party of 4 for dinner tonight via OpenTable. Upon arrival at our table, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the chef/owner, Michael Latour. Inside, this cozy, inviting, and casual vibe transported us to Paris. Various art pieces and designs were spread throughout two dining rooms. The menu is a culinary journey through flavors and textures. As an appetizer, we opted for the Scallops Rockefeller, Lump Crabmeat Strudel, and Roasted Beet Salad. Our main course featured Apricot-Glazed Duck Breast, Garlic and Mustard-Crusted Lamb Noisette, and Mac and Cheese with Lump Crabmeat Gratinée. Complimentary warm rolls with butter started our meal. Every dish was more impressive than the last. The sauces were perfection. Everything was tastefully delicious, well seasoned, and authentic. The price was comparable to the area. The staff was friendly and attentive; our server was Nancy. Michael, the chef, remains amazing as he goes by every table checking on his clients, old and new, to bring the personal touch. From the ambiance to the cuisine and the service, every aspect was executed with excellence, which we continue to recommend.

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

The menu is fixed-price, four courses with three options each -- simple, elegant, and unpretentious. Cash discount in March is a nice bonus too. Now the food -- where do I start. The **Roasted Candied Beets Carpaccio** was visually stunning and tasted even better. Blood Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette, Burrata, Prosciutto -- every flavor had its own moment. The **Crab Cake** was loaded with fresh, quality crab -- the chive oil pairing was spot on. But the showstopper? **Venison Wellington.** Tender, perfectly seasoned, and not something you see on many menus. I would order it again without hesitation. Finished with a peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert paired with an espresso -- an absolutely perfect ending. The staff was warm, attentive, and somehow never made you feel rushed or hovered over. That's a gift. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. We began our feast with a rustic Pâté de Campagne, accompanied by cornichons, mixed greens, and toasted baguette. We also shared Hareng Pomme à l'Huile--smoked herring imported from France, served over warm, tender potatoes. The youngest in our party kept himself occupied with his Nintendo Switch and two generous helpings of Alain's world-class pommes frites. After careful deliberation, he declared them superior to McDonald's--a high honor in the world of six-year-olds.
