This is some of the best apple and banana cream pie I've ever had. The pies that have come close to being this good are Emporium Pies in Texas. Banana cream is closer to a pudding feel similar to Magnolia Bakery without being overly sweet without being chunky. The apple pie was decadent, just sweet enough, crispy, flaky, and satisfying. It would have been perfect a la mode but I had to take this to go unfortunately. Love the old timey feel and charm of this place and the super friendly and helpful staff. I was craving a chicken pot pie, and a friend's recommendation brought me here. I came here during the Friday lunch rush, the place was bustling and filled with people who clearly seemed like regulars. The ambiance was homey and they also had a large outdoor seating. Loved it!! I wish I could remember my server's name. She had the cutest eyeglass frames and brown hair. There were three of us on a Monday and we were sat immediately. The outdoor area is cute and provides sufficient shade. We had a breakfast special, the sausage is amazing, eggs cooked perfectly! The BLT is really good and I'm pretty picky. The chicken and waffles were pretty good as well. We don't normally like chicken tenders, we prefer Chicken on the bone, but it was good for a tender. The waffles were good too. No one checked in or asked if I wanted a water refill until I was eating the last bite. Would definitely suggest eating here, as I said the food was outstanding, but keep your head on a swivel seem you have to ask for your drinks and refills. Every time we've gone, they're clearly understaffed, with maybe one or two waiters trying to handle the entire place. It's honestly frustrating. You end up waiting forever--an hour and a half just to get your food is not okay. And having to constantly flag someone down just to get water or coffee refills? That shouldn't be happening. At some point, it just feels like management is being cheap instead of hiring enough staff to run the restaurant properly. The wait staff is always cordial and the restaurant is cozy and pleasant and they offer outdoor dining as well. I decided to order a sandwich and went with the Tamarack Beach Club Sandwich. It's a triple decker treat with roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese and coleslaw on rye bread I asked to have the bread toated. It comes with a choice of fries, potato salad, coleslaw, soup or salad. I chose the fries. This sandwich was so delicious. The savory roast beef and ham combined with sweet and crunchy coleslaw and the tanginess of thousand island dressing raised the flavor of this hefty sando I highly recommend this if you enjoy club sandwiches. I've been craving a pie for days and decided to order a Banana Cream Pie to take home. It was topped with a cloud of whipped cream and filled with fresh sliced bananas and lucious custard filling. It got pretty busy after we got there and there were people waiting to be seated by the time we left. They have a lot of seating inside and outside. They also have a big parking lot but this place is popular, so I would recommend coming in just before peak hours. We got the French toast and the chorizo scramble with a side of potato pancake and a homemade biscuit. Both plates were excellent. The French toast was just right - not too sweet, fluffy and freshly made. The chorizo scramble was a teeny bit saltier than I like, but savory, with a slight kick and flavorful. The potato pancake didn't have as much salt so the combo worked. The biscuit was decent. We went back later that day to get some pie. They didn't have the banana cream pie, so we got the chocolate banana cream pie and the boysenberry pie slices. For people who like bananas, you will love the banana cream pie. Definitely strong on the banana component! The boysenberry was just right between sweet and tart. The pie crust were flaky and not at all soggy. My mom and I came in a little after 8 AM on a Wednesday and it was perfect -- not too crowded, relaxed, and easy parking (there's handicap parking right in front and it's super convenient right off I-5). We both ordered the Country Morning: a fluffy biscuit topped with scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, gravy, and potatoes. You get a choice between hashbrowns or home fries -- we both chose hashbrowns and they came with a small cup of ketchup. They also had everything you could need on the table or nearby -- jellies, sugars, creamer for coffee, plus hot sauce options like Cholula and Tabasco. I had a mimosa and my mom had coffee. We sat in a cozy corner booth, but they also have counter seating and regular tables. It felt comfortable and welcoming. The most amazing part though? The pies. Seeing them all displayed behind the glass was honestly impressive. The lemon meringue had the tallest, fluffiest meringue I've ever seen -- absolutely beautiful. I'm already planning to come back and try the chocolate banana pie for my birthday. We couldn't leave without grabbing a blueberry muffin and a banana nut muffin to go. They even have a senior menu, which is a nice touch. With everything -- both meals, drinks, and muffins -- we spent around $46, which felt very reasonable. Highly recommend for breakfast. However, the pie was EXCELLENT! So, if you are going to spend money on a pie....you know you will get a good one here. What I liked about it was that the pie itself wasn't overly sweet which really stood out against the snickers bar topping. We also tried a pineapple coconut pastry which was divine when warmed up.
