I love CT, NY, East Boston style best, but this guy makes a quality Greek style. Nice tangy sauce, cheese is better than most, nice soft crust. Some other places have hard air pocket filled crust and cheap cheese. Nick is nice. He's an old dude, so needs some slack given. Food was terrible. My bro ordered a steak and cheese and it was chewy and all fat. I got a turkey club. The old guy didnt even slice the turkey thin. He cut it with a knife in 1" thick pieces. The turkey was also super slimy. Lettuce was just 2 giant leafs and a tomato cut in fourths. Total Dump. AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. Holy cow this place has some nerve. I had never eaten here before, nor will I ever again. I ordered delivery thru Slice which is basically just a way to order online and the restaurant delivers w their own driver. I've used it 100 times w other places without an issue and it is their preferred delivery method online. I got a message saying our order would be late, then got a message that they couldn't deliver bc they didn't have drivers (an hour after ordering). I was a good sport and went to pick it up bc I figured they must be busy w the holiday weekend. This place was SO dead. No cars in the lot. Only 1 person working who seemed to be the owner and he was not busy at all. In fact, he had plenty of time to treat my business as an incredible inconvenience and ridicule me for having ordered online to begin with. I came to pick up the pizza you didn't deliver lol! TRASH!!! I ordered 4 large cheese pizzas to be delivered to my son's school for his third birthday party. I placed the order online, but called and spoke to the owner the day before as well just to verify that it was all set. He reassured me that my order was all set and would be delivered at the school for 11:15am. At 11:30 when the pizza wasn't there, I called Village pizza and the owner said that he had run a little late but that the delivery driver had just left the shop so it would be there soon. When the pizza still hadn't arrived at 11:45am, I called in a panic because I now had 20 hungry preschoolers expecting a pizza lunch. The owner basically told me that he uses a third party delivery service for deliveries and to contact "them" (still unsure who "them" is) because he couldnt do anything to help me. I was obviously upset after just spending $70 on pizza for my one birthday that didn't show up. He refused to refund me, refused to make my order again, and instead told me that "he was busy and this was not his problem" and hung up on me. I will NEVER do business here again and will warn everyone I know to stay away. This owner is rude, trash and a crook. Don't waste your time or your money here... you won't get your food or good service. read more

I'd like to give zero stars if possible, went in today for a small turkey, not a single customer in the place, owner is sitting at a table doing nothing and told me he couldn't make it for a few minutes. He proceeds to make the sandwich without asking me what I want on it, I attempted to make my additions and he said if you don't tell him before then the sandwich comes as is, refused my additions and become very confrontational. I grew up going to this place, it's been the same guy making these pizzas and sandwiches for 20+ years, and it's the best pizza on the planet. Classic Greek style with tons of cheese and a perfect crust. Nope the owner isn't going to kiss your butt, nope the place isn't fancy if you decide to eat in. Villiage pizza is my favorite pizza place in all of Shrewsbury. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. On Mondays/Tuesdays there is a 2 large cheese pizzas for $11.99 special. The calzones are also good, but if you want ricotta cheese or sauce on the inside, you have to ask (although sauce does come on the side). read more

I really wanted to like this place as a local business. I went on 2 occasions. I got an Eggplant Calzone the first time, which was easily 4 star food. I got a Greek salad the second time, which was disappointing. The iceberg lettuce core took up a lot of space in the salad, there was very little feta, and the accompanying pita was very stale. Although many have commented on the friendly owners, I didn't get that feeling at all. I felt a little out of place actually. I didn't find the place charming, rather it seemed run down and less than perfectly clean. I am going to keep looking for my go-to pizza, salad, and sub place. read more

Their model has Ben large quantities of ok food at a decent price With this heatwave, decided I didn't want to turn on the oven and heat up the house Ordered my usual, eggplant calzone On the plus side: It was big Great dough Did I mention it was big On the minus Eggplant was greasy, literally dripping with oil. Other than the taste of grease, eggplant was virtually tasteless. Dough was saturated in oil To add insult to injury, I was charged almost 40% more than the price listed on the menu, the web site, and the menu board I may/may not give them a try in the future. I hadn't been here in years and years because I had found other places I liked better. However, on Easter Sunday every other place else was closed, so I gave it another shot. The pizza was better than I remembered, not too-thick crust, flavorful toppings. The pastrami sub wasn't too fatty, with gooey provolone and spicy mustard. Seems like I may have to start patronizing Village Pizza more often. read more

It's taken me some time to zero in on these guys go to, because everything is above average. The salads are excellent and the fish and chips is at a price for one but serve two. But the chicken finger sub is where it is at. Juicy and perfect. These guys may not be the best with their phone manors, but when you show up you realize how busy they are on a skeleton family shift, you grasp that they are doing the best they can. And once you get in, they are pleasant people. 6 American dollars for a sub that can please the biggest of appetites. The pizza is the balls too. Screw dean park, this is shrewsbury's go to sub shop. Pizza at Village Pizza is the best deal in town, and the sauce alone tastes great. The owners and the place are full of character and old school feel, with pictures of Greece line the walls. While English may not be their strong suit, the owners here are incredibly hard-working. Fish & Chips are offered every day. read more

This was the worst take out experience I've ever had. Surprising because I was the only customer there, I should have known better. Generally a good place is accompanied by some kind of business. All I ordered was a buffalo chicken sub and a side salad. I was given dry chicken tenders on a white sub roll. I asked if it came with blue cheese. No. I asked if the tenders were buffalo. No. So I asked for a side of buffalo sauce which they were out of. My salad was given to me without any inquiry of what kind of dressing I wanted. This place is terrific. We have a family in Shrewsbury, and pick up takeout every couple of weeks. The pizza, calzones, Greek salads, and Italian subs are our favorites. Not expensive, and always good. The owners are really charming, and awesome when kids come in to eat. read more
