Being my first and hopefully only visit I don't want to be completely negative, based on other…read morereviews I don't think I'm too far off from the correct opinion. Very short mannered staff. A bunch of signs everywhere basically with warnings against being late, not being early enough, cell phones. And highlighted. So lectured through paper and don't ask a question before looking around at all the signs. Medical assistant was not very friendly or personable. Cut me off before I finished listing med list. Practitioner I met was nice enough. He mentioned a different brace and I asked about insurance costs and was told he just focuses on the medical side, which fair enough, but seemed shocked that I'd assume he'd know such things. It's an expensive field, I just thought maybe he had heard from other patients. I hate to make a judgement off of one appointment unless it's an extreme disrespect or danger, but wanted to prepare and add to the previous reviews. Not saying don't go, but saying don't expect friendliness.

Prior…read moreto surgery, I verified that my health insurance was accepted by the office of Hand, Microsurgery & Reconstructive Orthopaedics LLP within the AHN network. On January 29, 2026, the technician improperly cast my hand (purple) to my elbow. When I informed her that the cast was excessively tight, as it was compressing my fingers and causing tingling sensations, she assured me that it was not too tight and that I would become accustomed to it. On January 30, 2026, after not sleeping the entire night, I contacted the office and expressed my concerns. They instructed me to visit the office, where a technician cut off the purple cast. The technician informed me that the cast was incorrectly cast, too tight, and excessively long. Subsequently, she cast me in a short blue cast. I expressed that the cast felt too tight at the wrist. She insisted that I would become accustomed to it and that it would be fine. However, it was not fine. The cast remained painful. By February 12, 2026, I was in tears, unable to endure the pain caused by the cast and pressure on my wrist. The office had me visit the office again, where the second cast was cut off. Upon removing the second cast, I noticed that the surgical site appeared red, felt hot, and sticky in the lower portion. I voiced my concerns, but the technician assured me that it was fine. The technician wrapped my hand and arm as they did after surgery without casting it a third time. The surgical site was not fine; it became increasingly painful as the days passed, continuing to redden and swell. It was infected. On February 23, 2026, I contacted the office to inform them of the infection. Ashley Grimm, the medical assistant, instructed me to text a picture of my surgical site. Without seeing me, they prescribed medication, stating that I should inform them in a few days if it was improving. In June 2026, I received two separate bills from UPMC Labs (out of my heath insurance network) one totaling $419 and the other $1678.00. While under sedation and unaware of the proceedings, Dr. Motamedi made an irresponsible decision by opting to use UPMC Labs instead of utilizing the AHN Labs that were within my healthcare network. I was never informed or consulted regarding the laboratories and their destinations or the possibility of them being sent outside my network without my consent. I was shocked! These labs would have been fully reimbursed had they been sent to laboratories within my AHN network. I contacted the office of Hand, Microsurgery & Orthopaedics LLP and left a message for Ryan, the practice manager, requesting that he contact me. I waited for two days without receiving a call. I called the office again and spoke with Tiffany, who informed me that Ryan was unavailable but that I could leave him another message. I declined that offer. She subsequently connected me with Kim, the "front office coordinator," to inquire about the circumstances surrounding this situation. Kim's demeanor was extremely rude and condescending. She stated, "Dr. Motamedi does not know anything about your insurance; however, he does decide where your labs are sent. Our office has no control over this matter; it is not our responsibility. The issue is between you and your insurance provider." The outcome of the basil joint arthroplasty, which was performed six months ago, has been less than favorable. Due to Hand, Microsurgery Reconstruction & Orthopaedics LLP surgeon Dr. Pedram Motamedi specifically choosing labs outside of my insurance network, I personally owe $2097.00. In light of my experience, I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

They said that the insurance company dictates how much they can charge for the boot and that it isn't under their control. What a crock. Do your research before accepting any product through your doctor's office or surgery center.

My 2 children loved it there and were always cared for in an appropriate manner. They work with us as a family to figure out our needs as well as my kid's needs.
