100% Vincent lives up to the hype. A dive bar that is known for their meatball sandwich, I have been dying to check it out. Such a good atmosphere. The space is small, dark, and had a live band playing. Bartenders were very quick. Their menu is simple, each meatball sandwich is $11. We got two sandwiches and two drinks. And wow, this sandwich was incredible. First off the bread was perfect, it was super soft and light that soaked up all the flavor from the meatballs and the sauce. Coming from NYC, going to a dive bar was common for a New Yorker. When searching for a place to drink and eat, Vincent's came up with high reviews especially for their meatball sandwich. The bar was in a more secluded area but we didn't mind. When we walked in at 9:45pm on a Sunday night, I didn't expect to feel... unwelcomed? I still love this place and still come most if not every time I'm back in Worcester. I am adding an update to my previous review because, for the first time, I had the pleasure of sampling their cuisine. One of my co-patrons ordered their famous cheese plate. It is a large plate with chunks of cheese, onions, mustard, and a sleeve of saltines. They really could not have done a better job of curating this plate to really precisely represent their vibe. I love the live bands every night, no cover charge but a bucket gets passed to donate to the band. It's a great night where I can dance to every song with total abandon. So, I do! If you're in the area, this place is a must visit! I came here from out of town, so I'm unfortunately no regular, but absolutely loved everything about Vincent's. Even on a Sunday night, the place is lively with great live music (shout out to Big Jon Short), friendly service and patrons, and delicious meatballs. Drove an hour to meet friends in Worcester and try the "famous" meatball sub. After sitting around for about 15 minutes or so for any sign of someone that worked there. Eventually a man emerged from a back room and shouts at only me and my friend (all 27 btw) that he needs to see our IDs and then just left. We all pulled out of licenses and waited but when he came back he only looked at one of my friend's ID for about half a second, which is not possibly long enough to read anything on it. He then just told us "no" and left again. We were given no reason but all three of us were refused service with perfectly valid IDs (two of which weren't even checked). When we asked what was wrong or if he just didn't like my friends out of state ID the worker only told us "that's part of it." Terrible experience, really giving Worcester a bad reputation. Won't ever be trying the meatball sub out of pure spite. I hope all three generations of your special recipe fade into meaningless obscurity. read more

Vincent's is quite possibly my new favorite spot in Worcester (and among my favorite dive bars anywhere). It's everything I want in a dive bar -- great classic cocktails, extensive beer list, even wine and sangria, a small but solid food menu, and a dark and cozy interior as well as outdoor seating. I started with a Tito's martini and a cheese plate. The cheese plate is comical in a good way, with an entire sleeve of saltines, what seems to be an entire block of cheddar cheese, and a horseradish mustard with a nice kick and some pieces of raw onion. So unexpected but works somehow. We were there on a Friday with fantastic weather so we sat outside and listened to live music at the Shack, which was 60s hits by Doug Moore who rocked it. Next was an Old Fashioned and meatball sub. There isn't much I can say about the meatball sub that hasn't been said, so just get it. You won't regret it. The bartenders were attentive and down to earth, and I liked both the outdoor and indoor atmospheres. I love this place and will be returning when I'm back in Worcester. read more

ok, not what i expected, an OLD bar, and perhaps a little dusty here and there, nice collection of taxidermy, looks like an often locals place, yet with a certain ambiance, not too crowded for lunch today, service, the bartender was wonderful, informative and funny, the drinks were very good, the menu did not exist, meatball or sausage sub, a cheese board or some sort or a pasta dish, the meatballs were good yet were contained in a mountain of bread, interesting different, ok... they have a wonderfully full menu of music however and that should keep it pretty interesting, heck, a trip to the men's room and all the inscriptions on the walls and doors was interesting!!!!!!!! read more

This was my first time at Vincent's ever and it's during the pandemic. So I cannot attest to how crowded it can get because everything was very relaxed. The service was really attentive. Cocktails were all great. Very well made. Service is pretty limited. When I went in there was 1 person working the bar and so you need to go up to order... just like a pub in Britain. I'd say they were a little gruff about it too. Food choices are very limited. The meat and cheese plate is slices of regular old super market cheddar, cubes of something like a cooked Italian sausage served with a sleeve of saltines and diced raw onion. I'm not joking. 4 star dive bar Oh Vincent's, where do I begin? I love dive bars, no neighborhood is too sketchy for me to try. Well this is a sketchy area, but DO NOT pass this place by. You open the front door and enter a time warp to an age when a real divey lowly lit lounge was the norm. My favorite kind of place. The bartender or bar keep at this place where old school vests and ties, I love it. I then hear a Frank Sinatra song on the juke box. A real juke box, no Touch Tunes here. My wife and I ordered a few drinks and they know how to pour them. Lastly, the meatball sandwich. Good thick Italian bread and great meatballs for 4 or 5 bucks. My out can't beat it. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Ahhhh... there it is. Vincent's. It's an old smell, but not necessarily a bad one. Like books that have been on the shelf in a cellar for oh so many years. Breath in again. There it is. In a few moments you'll forget about it entirely. Now open your eyes. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Well, not literally... um. I think. But a raccoon playing baseball? Yes. A full-blown blow-fish? Yes. Angry boar? Yes. Cat with red sparkly yes? Yes. Poor fluffy lives on on a shelf at Vincent's. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is not a place for righteous vegetarians of members of PETA. Yes, that thermometer is also a hoof. All of this taxidermy has me wondering if the shrunken head behind the bar is real. In my mind, it is. With all of this... ambiance... you'd expect watered down scotch and maybe pretzels as a food option. Well, your expectations would be WRONG. I was having a craptastic day (before Vincent's) so I decided cheap red wine would calm my nerves when the bartender also suggested their homemade Sangria. Sure. Why not? Okay, this may officially be the only thing I ever drink here. Deee-f*cking-licious. Seriously and stuff. And then there's the food. Oh the food. I'm pretty sure they kidnapped some ancient Italian woman from the North End and force her to slave away making meatballs in the basement. You could seriously just go here for the food. I did not get to enjoy this patio I heard so much about as my evening got cut a little short due to uncontrollable circumstances, but that's just fine. Perfect even. Oh, history Oh, authenticity Oh, FUN I parked in this nether region and meandered toward the bar with the thumping of the music within resonating as I approached. The banter of the smokers outside made me pause - interesting patrons bodes well. Came in, and the (expected) darkness/redness hit me. So, too, the deep real-bass grooves. And the smell of age - you CANNOT buy that, but man, would I ever bottle it. (I've smelled it in select, more patient Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Louisville establishments, for example...that legitimate gravitas that no one's washed off and varnished, thinking the citizenry will mind it.). The darkness and decorative taxidermy are a draw of their own. So too the Agatha Christie and Zane Grey novel inlays within the bar. The beer selection and pricing is ripe for your picking. The crowd is friendly, lively, and not overly suffocating (though they are vocal) during a Friday midnight's music session. Proceeded to grab my Schlitz and meatball sandwich. Cocktails? Probably elsewhere, please. Beer? Very well. Food? Dig IN. The meatball sandwich is recommended not because other elements are incapable, but because this dish is American institution-good. Meatballs that warm your heart, remind you of love, and come with bread that could sufficiently keep Wyoming warm if draped appropriately. You want this. Bring cash, and indulge. I've not sold Vincent's enough, and it deserves better than mere Yelping...bring friends, talk it up, and don't keep it hidden - let Vincent's set an example for others on how to keep American bars strong. Been coming here for more than a decade - it's one of the few things in Worcester that hasn't changed and I hope it always stays like that. Eclectic crowd, great live music that usually has everyone on their feet by the end of the night, experienced bar staff, weird and unusual decor and an unbeatable meatball sandwich. For the love of god, don't ask to see a drink menu- it's not that kind of place. Our waiter was nice about it but I felt so lame. I really don't want to pigeonhole Vincent's, but if you were holding me at gunpoint, I'd tell you it was like a hipster saloon that happened to serve the best meatball sandwiches you ever had. We're in the 'Rona times, so I can only vouch for the outdoor experience. I'm not very familiar with Worcester, so from my eyes the location of Vincent's is WILD. It's a stand-alone building that abuts woods and is across the street from a factory done up in vinyl siding??? Anyway, the backyard area is lowkey and nice, the (live bluesy) music was bumpin' but not too loud, and everything was reasonably priced. The meatball sandwich is the star of the show, though. The pictures on this site do not do it justice. I remember looking it up, going "ah, a large half of a sandwich on an app plate. Nice." NO!! It's a behemoth of a full sammy on a full-sized dinner plate. I have no idea where these folks get their Italian bread but its size is ungodly. The sandwich isn't like a sub; they take slices of bread that are each at least an inch thick and like 9 inches wide and slap some tender meatballs, hearty sauce, and melty cheese on it. Great vibe, great dive. The interior is dark and has a large variety of taxidermy. The bartender does it all. Drinks are cheap and selection is good. A very, very funky bar! I'm relatively new in town, but I gotta say that the surroundings made me feel like I was about to be murdered. That being said, once you're inside the vibe is incredibly welcoming. The bartender immediately greeted us when we arrived and we had our drinks in our hands in no time. I only had a few beers, so I can't speak to the bartender's skills, but I definitely felt taken care of and will come back for more. The bar is decorated in taxidermy and old-timey vintage random decor so you're entranced by something no matter which way you're looking. They even have a functional jukebox! Where do you even see that nowadays?? They had a live performer as well which was a very nice touch. From what we heard from a fellow bargoer, it's a very safe bar for women who want a night out on their own, which is always nice to know. Definitely a Worcester staple. read more
