I stopped by this gas station 1/27/19 and did not pay close attention to the Outrageous price on the sign. It was 5.99 a gallon!!! I went inside the store to get a receipt because the pump didn't generate a one. I asked the 2 guys inside what was up with the ridiculous price and they gave me a dumb stare and replied, "That's how much he charges." I lost out that time but thank God I stopped another family from getting GOUGED by these thieves as I was walking back to my truck. read more

Was about to pull in for gas when I saw the price on the sign outside. $5.99 a gallon! The 7-Eleven two minutes away had gas for $2.56 a gallon and we ended up going there instead. THIS GAS STATION IS CHARGING $5.99 a gallon! All other stations in the area charge $2.18-$2.99 There have been numerous complaints about this station on both apps. This should be illegal. I assumed it was the normal price for gas in Orlando, but after I'd filled up halfway, decided to look on Gasbuddy and saw the jaw dropping difference. I would actually give them a negative number if possible. I didn't think the number was correct initially. Then I started to pump and realized the $6.99 for premium was real. I stopped immediately and was like no. I went inside opened up gas buddy and realized it wasn't common place in Orlando. When we asked about the difference in price, they said: "We can charge whatever we like as gas prices are not regulated in Florida and we posted the price out front." Price for regular gas was $5.99, more than 3 times that of going rate. I paid $1.91 at another Shell only 5 miles to the east on I-4. It's disgusting that this gas station preys on tourists who may not know any better than to pay these rates or people who just fill up without checking the price. This is price-gouging at its most disgraceful. While other gas stations in the area are charging $1.69, $1.79, $1.89, this station has the temerity to charge $5.99 for regular gas. As tourists driving along a well-traveled road in Orlando, it's easy to assume that most prices are similar, since in fact, they are! To our chagrin, when we pulled in to the Shell station on Vineland and got 5 gallons of gas, we were charged more than $35! Is there a sign? Yes, there is, but only one, and no prices are posted on the pumps. Should we have been more observant? Certainly. But at the end of a long day, and assuming most gas stations are honest, we simply pulled in and filled up our rental car. When I went inside the store and asked if the price was correct, the gentleman said he had nothing to do with it, that Shell sets the prices. If Shell is allowing this to happen here in Orlando, they will never see my business in New Jersey, either, and i will let everyone I know hear of this disgraceful practice. Shame on Shell for permitting this to happen and shame on Orlando for allowing gas stations to gouge tourists like this as well. I went to fill with gas as I was returning car the next day and had time to kill before picking up the kids from the shopping outlet. As usual practice, just selected grade and started pumping. I had half a tank and as it ws near full, I turned and looked at amount $70. I then saw that the price was $5.89/gallon. As a visitor, I went into the station and asked if that was what Florida gas cost ( maybe much higher taxes?). Guys says, no, owner sets the price, most other stations are $3.50 or so. I said, so what you are telling me is that you are ripping me off?? Guys, says again, owner sets price. When I leave, I see a small sign in corner of lot, unlit that displays price. Unbelievable that the city and state allow such businesses to rip you off. These are a direct reflection of the people that run the cities and government of this state and it's BAD. read more

The prices are disgusting but the clerks are friendly. Whoever went in there and actually took a picture of them you should be ashamed of yourself. The people who work there are only doing their job. I went in there numerous times for years and no matter who the clerk was (though I typically only saw one) were always quick and very kind. They have nothing to do with the price of gas. I understand the frustration but remember to lash out at the right people. If you all were to ask for the number to corporate you may be able to make a change. read more

DO NOT BUY GAS FROM HERE. It cost $50 for 3/4 of a tank for my FIAT that usually fills at $15. I am a local and went into the store as my mom was pumping the gas... She doesn't look at the price usually and didn't even notice. The cashier was very friendly when i was checking out and gave me a locals discount on my snacks, which I found strange. But shortly after I found out it was because he was stealing from us! Gas prices are average around $1.80 right now in central Florida. But then again the average in FL is around 2$ per gallon... I have never experienced this kind of gouging anywhere in the US. Visiting from Canada, driving around on a Sunday night looking for gas (tank was under a quarter), rolled into the Shell at Vineland Ave. Got out of the car, looked at the price on the pump, told the guy next to me, "did you see the price on the pump?". I went inside to inquire whether there was an error on the pump, and the attendant said "no". So I said, "so you're selling gas at $5.99/gallon while everyone else in town is $2.30/gallon?".
