Despite there are 250…read moremillion Indonesians in the world, we don't spread as much as our neighbours the Philippines or Thais, therefore there isn't much Indonesian supermarket or restaurant to find. But here's where I do my shopping if I need serious Indonesian stuff, be it spices or just ingredients that are difficult to find or just familiar snacks from my childhood. Price is very fair for these items without comparing it to the prices sold in Indonesia (taking import costs into account, obviously). It's not far from the U-bahn station Löhmullenstrasse, just across the main road. It shares entrance with muslim / Arabic clothing shop, so don't be confused when there's no dedicated entrance for the supermarket, it's just in the back of the clothing shop. Perhaps the location is hidden to test your inner Indonesian or how bad do you want some Indonesian stuff :) You can do your bulk shopping here as they have their items in cardboard boxes as well (40 pieces of Indomie instant noodles? Yes they have!). You can opt to have your groceries also wrapped in a cardboard box instead of grocery plastic bags, for more authentic Indonesian experience (just like Indonesians heading home for religious holidays with a box of Indomie propped over their shoulder!). They have also online shops (which I believe most of their orders come from). If you need Indonesian groceries in Hamburg, this is definitely the place to go.
