I used to work at the Le Creuset boutique which used to be right next door to Eataly, but is now closed. On my breaks I would go over to grab a coffee, gelato, to-go packaged lunch and peruse the all the amazing Italian culinary offerings. Good times. Fast forward to Mother's Day 2025... my sweet daughter, in conjunction with a good friend, booked a dinner for us at Vino and we had a great meal and a great time. However, I'll have to say, our original server kept giving us strange looks after each request. As a former restaurant cook, I hear all the server complaints and I try so very hard to not be THAT person. However, our server kept pausing after anything we asked for additional. He was especially weirdish to my male friend, which we all tried to brush off as...well, weird.. But a few minutes later, a new server appeared and said she'd be taking over. She was very charming, accommodating and provided excellent service. When we asked what happened to the other guy, she laughed and said he had to go home. Oh really? Ok... On to the food...everything we had was excellent. For starters, we shared two orders of the calamari and the rucola salad. Delicious. For entrees, we had the whole branzino, the mushroom tagliatelle and the pasta with lobster special. Everything was spectacular! This place may be a tourist trap but it's one I'll gladly go back to!

My family and I ate here last night. Food was absolutely delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with when it came to the menu. He also made sure we never ran out of drinks, and asked if we needed anything often. This place is pretty big, with plenty of seating, and very well lit. We will definitely be back when we visit Chicago.

The Carbonara is to die for. The waiter was a gem. He recommended wine to go with my meal and it was not something I would have normally ordered but he did a great job. My daughter is not big on pasta so she had the wagyu burger which she said was great but she really adored the fries. The restaurant is in the middle of shopping, it's a little noisy. But I think it's intentional. Makes it seem less uptight even though it is a very nice place. Like it's living, there's energy here. Can't explain it but if you don't like... accessibility it might not be for you.

While visiting Eataly's store to shop, we made reservations for Vino & inside the Eataly Chicago. Our time was for 1:30PM and we got there a little early, but they took us right away, even though they were busy. Our server, Brian was great... Very helpful and attentive. I had questions about wine and he did a little checking with others to get the answers I needed. He also did a great job explaining the way various items were prepared. We started with their focaccia, which was made fresh to order and was incredibly soft, tasty, and came with a nice, light EVOO to dip into. Next up was a Margherita pizza, which came out with little delay and was beautiful! The flavors were great and it had a nice, slight char to parts of the crust. The toppings were great and the sauce was very fresh and flavorful. We really loved it! For an entrée we split their tagliatelle Bolognese... it was the perfect amount to split (especially for lunch). The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was excellent! A friend of ours joined us and got the branzino, which he loved... I tried it and it was really fresh and tasty. The service was beautifully plated! Food and service was great... prices were decent... Definitely worth stopping in!!

My family and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night during the summer. We were going to eat at one of the other restaurants within Eataly, but they had a super long wait. Vino had a very similar menu, so we decided to give it a try since it's open seating. The tables are super tiny and we were worried about food falling the entire meal. We ordered the verde salad to start. Nothing was super special about this, but I did like the watermelon radish. We also got the Nerano pizza, which had zucchini. The pizza was super soggy and just not right. We also got the tagliolini al limone pasta. I liked the slight lemon flavor of this pasta. All of the portions were small and so overpriced for what we got. We also ordered a wine flight, which came after the food came. Service was pretty bad and restaurant just seemed unorganized.

My family and I went to Vino & for dinner and had a great experience. The service was fast and friendly, the wine options were plentiful and the quality of all the pasta and pizza dishes we tried were great. Punctuating this, the prices were quite good and nothing felt much pricier than any number of chain Italian restaurants. My only critique is that I do believe the ambiance of Vino & was not particularly spectacular. It was situated between another restaurant and the center of the second floor of Eataly which was a bit awkward. Overall, however, really great. Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Value: 5/5 Consistency: N/A

We sat at Vino and I'm not the type of person to write reviews, but I just had to for this place. We had amazing service, she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I will say everything is expensive. We paid almost $100 for 3 things. We requested to see a manager to tell them about how dirty the bathrooms are. Unfortunately, we never spoke with one because she was not able to find one for us. I would've given it a 5 star rating but the things we had issues with were sanitary concerns. The bathrooms are so dirty and there wasn't even soap in the restrooms, the place overall also looks disorganized, just look at what we saw! This is such a bad look for their establishment. We started to mistrust the cleanliness of everything after we left.

reading the reviews i was beginning to regret my decision to make a reservation here. however, we had a great experience. came for an early dinner on a sunday before a show at the cadillac palace theater. the service was great and the food, though expensive was really tasty. we had the chicken milanese, butternut squash ravioli and davila pizza. nothing crazy out of this world, but a good meal none the less. ambiance was interesting seeing as the restaurant is in the middle of the store (but sectioned off). give this place a shot! it is just as expensive as many of the other italian restaurants in river north and the food is really tasty!

Loved the fresh bread with rosemary olive oil, it was soft and warm when it came out! We ordered the pesto pizza and it was good, but slightly bland and the middle of the pizza was a bit soggy. I agree with the other reviews stating that the tables were pretty small and a bit uncomfortable.

We had an amazing experience at Eataly in Chicago! It's a huge and has a grocery, wine, food stalls, desserts, fresh pasta and breads, etc! We stopped by Eataly and were so surprised by all the offerings. We decided to eat at Vino &, which is located upstairs. It's an open restaurant surrounded by other restaurants and food stalls with fresh offerings. Our server explained items come out at different times since different stalls make the food. The menu has wine, antipasti, pizza, and pasta offerings. We started with cocktails and wine. Warning - this place is on the pricey side! I ordered the sparking wine flight for $25 and was surprised by the amount and the different types of wine I was offered. Would recommend if you like sparking and want to try something different. Food - We started with the burrata ($23) and focaccia ($8). It was beautiful and so delicious. We ended up ordering another focaccia, because it was small and the best focaccia I've ever had! It was light and fluffy and paired perfectly with the burrata. For our entrees, my friends ordered the Cavolo Nero salad ($19) with added chicken. The portion was large, but they didn't love the protein. I chose the Tagliolini al Limone ($22) and loved the fresh pasta and bright flavor of the lemon zest and basil. A delightful, but expensive meal. Would highly encourage you to check out Eatlaly!

MUST HAVE!!!! & PAIR WIRH FOCACCIA THIS BOARD WAS THE PERFECT AMOUNT FOR 2

cute & conveniently in the middle of a market, right when i was getting hungry the entire unit is a must see spot in chicago especially with your mom and girlfriends! here's how to do it right - come hungry! - bring your husbands credit card - get an uber - have a couple glasses with the girls while the men are away watching football!! - walk the block to shop & to get your steps in to offset all the focaccia

A true 3.5 rating. It was a packed night, but we still had good service with a reservation. Overall it has great ambiance, very beautiful presentation of food, and it was a nice romantic date. However, I didn't feel the value of the food we were getting was worth the price. I found the flavors a little lacking. For example, the hanger steak came with grilled onions and it was quite a strong flavor that wasn't enjoyable.

I wanted nothing more than to ring in year 45 with a great glass of natural wine... and I walked out having had a 7-glass flight and one of the most memorable evenings of the trip. The bartenders deserve their own star. They weren't just knowledgeable--they were genuinely fun to talk to, the kind of people who make you feel like you've been coming there for years. We went from discussing funky wine profiles to diving deep into '80s horror films, which is absolutely my idea of a perfect tangent. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the whole experience feel personal and spontaneous. As for the wine: unique, surprising, and delicious, even the pours I didn't expect to enjoy. Good Funk leans into exploration in the best way--nothing feels generic or predictable. Every glass had its own personality, and the flight felt like a curated adventure rather than a lineup. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, stylish without being pretentious, and perfect for either a solo wind-down or a lively night out. It's the kind of place that encourages you to linger, taste one more thing, have one more conversation. Good Funk turned what could've been a quiet, forgettable evening into an unforgettable birthday-eve celebration. If you're in Chicago and love natural wine--or just love a spot with genuine heart--don't miss this place.

I'll begin by mentioning the drinks tasted great & the ambiance/overall esthetic and setup of this space is really wonderful. Unfortunately, my low review is because of the obvious distastefulness of some staff who are serving & bartending here. My guests visiting from out of state wanted a stiff drink in the afternoon & from the website photos + reviews, Vol 39 seemed like an awesome place that could accommodate our party with the large sofa seating. I even called ahead to ask about walk-ins of our size to be extra considerate. We received shocking dagger glares from a few staff members which made all eight of us immediately uncomfortable before even being sat. Like we were committing a major crime for thinking we could step foot in here. Empty stack of glasses slammed on the table with a water pitcher placed beside them; "I'll be right back." In a sharp tone. Ok. But not if we're paying $20 per person per cocktail. We were rushed and this attitude persisted, it is lazy.. especially given it was extremely slow.. super surprising for such an elevated establishment. Then, after a long while, we were all asked what we wanted to drink, like a fast casual burger joint. No, "any questions about our selections" or, "may I give some suggestions?" Never came by to check on us once despite the three other two tops inside. We wrapped it up fast since we definitely could choose another location with more attentiveness & basic kindness. We paid, a hefty gratuity in small print on the check which.. you guessed it.. was automatically included but no mention of this tidbit by the server. Maybe this is why we revived all this mean girl energy from the jump? Because they'll still get paid really well regardless? All eight of us have been a part of the service industry and this one stuck out extra frustrating & annoying. Never leave a low review, I'm writing today to management because they will ruin your repeat clientele, seriously. People can find another fabulous cocktail with way better service & vibes in the city. Overall, it was a shame my friends experienced this gross behavior today in the fabulous city of Chicago. Hope the staff does better in the future and works on improving their outlook.

Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.
