Also, and I agree, the menu is small. However, for me, this spot gets 4 stars. I've wanted to try it for 6 years, and though I would prefer if it was more central to Prague, it really isn't so bad to get to once you know which tram to take, or which line to use (and don't mind walking a smidgen). The vineyard is a working vineyard which means you might as well just get a small carafe of the house wine. (White or red - both are decent, though I preferred the white.) As we'd already eaten lunch, we weren't at all hungry when we ventured here. However, I had to get *something* so I opted for the Czech cheese board. My husband and I both found cheeses we liked, so it turned out to be a fine decision. I'd love to try the Italian meat and cheese board if I make my way back on another visit. We lucked out as the weather was cold and humid, so it wasn't crowded at all. Also lucky for us, a very kind and enigmatic young Czech guy was able to speak with us in English, and even set us up in the huge grey room with enormous windows. For quite a while we had this room, and its fantastic view, all to ourselves, only sharing it later with a couple of older Czech women who seemed just as pleased as we were. From a wine gazebo with, at least for us, very friendly service, decent wine, and cheese and meat boards - I don't see what more you could truly want. Maybe we were lucky, maybe we're just Americans, but we loved passing part of our afternoon here and I would recommend it to anyone who feels like venturing out to Praha 10.

Look for the Art Deco style entrance, which takes you down a long hallway past other unrelated shops, to the entrance of the brewery / brewpub. When I came, they weren't exactly offering tours, but they had paper place mats out that walk you through the brewing process, and how long this building has been doing which function of the brewing process. The waiter took me past a plaster accordion player statue to a booth by the fermentation tanks. I was in heaven! I got a sampler of beer, which includes their own pilsner, a few other beers, and my fav- the beer champagne! The beer champagne wasn't the champagne of beers, Miller High Life, but a beer champagne! It seems that they used champagne yeast to make a higher proof effervescently bubbly brew that I'd drink all the time if I could get it! I also got a shot of the distilled beer. I've tried this kinda stuff before, which isn't that great. Think a weird hoppy vodka. Theirs wasn't much better than most homemade moonshine. I've seen places make this 'shine from beer that gets messed up, but they don't want to pour down the drain. Meh- it works. The place was decorated in a strange brewery fashion. Here, almost downtown you can enjoy wine produced just few steps from where you are sitting. They are open Fridays and Saturdays afternoon, winemakers themselves (who rent vineyard from the city) will serve you. They speak some English so they can give you even a good explanation how they make wine. Water is free, they have some crackers but the main item to sell is of course wine. Wine - of course it cannot compete with great French and Italian wine, but if you compare it with Moravian, you can easily go and start drink wine from Prague. They sell dornfelder (heavy red wine), muller thurgau (white, typical for Central Europe), hibernal (white) and Pinot noir. Last but not least - from the vineyard you have a wonderful view all over southern Prague. The only problem for tourists (but for many locals as well :) is to find the place.

Even for Vinohrady's (the district's name translates to 'Vineyards', in case you haven't figured it…read moreout yet :]) wine-bar-at-every-corner standards, this place is an absolute golden find. It is cozy, but quite small, so perhaps not ideal for a loud evening with friends. But given the excellent choice of wines, and their fantastic quality to price ratio, this is just an ideal spot for a calming glass of wine after work, or - and this is where the golden part comes - stopping by and taking home the wine from tap in bulk. The wines are really delicious and much higher quality than whatever you find during a quick store run, so Vinne Nebe is increasingly becoming a top choice for locals hosting a dinner party/looking for an evening treat for a nice night in. Why drink something else when you can have excellent quality while not breaking the bank. The staff is really nice and helpful, and often open to having a good chat with their clientele of regulars. I suggest anyone living nearby to go on and become one too :).

I love the system where you can order on the screen or at the register and they give you a ticket with your order number on it and they yell it out when it's ready. It's very efficient. The beer was also great! Of course we were in Prague so it was going to be good. Finally the outside space is sweet. I loved how there were so many people but still room for everyone. And it was kept very clean as people came and went. We got food at the place across the courtyard, I believe it was called Bufet. It's a nice spot, I recommend!
