Down to Earth has been a favorite store in Grand Haven. I stopped in today to look around and was…read moremet by a wonderful sales associate. I found (3) items to try on and she placed them in the dressing room. She took time to check back in to see if there was anything I needed and was very helpful. Checking out with the owner was another experience. She rang up a necklace and the looked at the price tag on the jacket, I had hoped to purchase. She looked at me and said the wrong price was on the jacket. "Obviously someone has put a different price tag on this coat", With that, she ripped the price tag off and looked at me as if I had replaced the tag. I told her I did not that that was the tag that was on the coat. The tag did not look like it had been tampered with, and I was not sure where she was going with her acquisition. There were a number of other customers standing around the check out counter. I was embarrassed with the way she handled this. . Needless to say, I did not purchase the jacket. She may have had a bad day. I hope she treats her other customers better than she did today.

There are vintage clothes, housewares, some decor and other locally made odds and ends. It's packed in there. My wife popped in and ended up with a lovely little necklace made by the owner. The store has a wonderful mixture of items from several vendors, beautifully organized in a very nice space. We thoroughly enjoyed browsing through all the areas and we both found several items (and might have taken home a few more if the budget would have allowed). The proprietor was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to an already enjoyable experience. (And there is a great pizza place right next door!) We will definitely visit again when we are next in the area.

This is a really cute clothing store featuring screen printed designs. The designs are fun and…read moreplayful, and feature animals, fun sayings, and unique color palettes. The store is chock full of sweatshirts, t-shirts, and more. I found a sweatshirt that I liked but they didn't have my size, so an employee told me I could probably find it online. I did look but couldn't see it there, so it may just be luck of the draw if you are looking for something specific. They had a big clearance section in back that we looked through - I saw a lot of cropped tees which I know are popular but definitely not for me. Classic styles can still be found at Marushka though. Some of the prints were just a little too whimsical for me to consider wearing, but I did enjoy looking at them and they brought a smile to my face. I think that's part of the whole point - so even though I didn't purchase anything, this shop still brought me joy. Definitely a great spot to find kids' clothes.
