My wife and I mentioned that it was our honeymoon, so we were upgraded to a bigger room. That was probably a good thing since the upgrade was a bed, a desk, bathroom, and a couple of feet to spare. Then again, what more do you really need? The WiFi was dependable, but you will constantly be disconnected when your device is shut off and have to reenter the password (but I found this to be the case with every hotel we stayed at in Italy). The free breakfast buffet was great. A very tastey variety of eggs, meats, rolls and pastries were left out. The Bailey's Hotel is also on a great street for dining. There are three restaurants that are better known to locals than tourists just a few steps from the front door. The biggest con about the Bailey's Hotel is that it's about as far northwest in downtown Rome as it gets. While it's very close to the Borghese Gallery and Termini Station, it's pretty far from many of the other major sites (at least a 30 minute walk, 20 euro cab ride, or you need to take the subway which everyone warns you not to, to many of the sites you will want to see). But unless you are paying to stay in the heart of the city, you will find this the case with many other hotels.

First off, our family had joined rooms (Connected by a door) that were designed terribly. My parents had a king sized bed in a room the size of a closet so it was almost impossible to move through the room with their suitcases and the large television/storage compartment in the way. My brother and I shared a beautiful large room with 2 twin sized beds, a very nice bathroom, and 2 windows revealing an awesome street view of Rome. Basically, my brother and I lived like royalty (Ha) while my parents were constantly struggling to get around. Second, the wi-fi is extremely frustrating. We were given slips of paper with different (computer generated) usernames and passwords which wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't needed a new username and password for every single electronic device we were using. Each one of us had multiple electronic devices so we ended up needing 7 different usernames and passwords! Not to mention the fact that every time your electronic device falls asleep (Which was every 5 minutes for my phone), you have to log in all over again. Sometimes I had to log in 2 times in one minute! (First world problem, I know, but still!) The worst thing about the wi-fi was not the usernames and passwords for every device, nor was it the fact you had to log in every minute, THE WI-FI WAS SLOW TO THE POINT OF BEING UNUSABLE. Sometimes it'd move along just fine, but most of the time, It'd take 10 minutes to load a low-quality youtube video. The breakfast buffet was delicious, the employees were very nice, and the decor was beautiful. Although some things should've been done differently, our overall time there was pretty pleasant.

Perched at the top of a small street in a super residential part of the city, this hotel has the…read moreadvantage of providing a great deal of calm and quiet in an ordinarily loud and bustling city. The hotel looks much like the other buildings in the area, large homes in pastel colors that have an air of faded glamor. The entrance is pretty well done and there are two lovely terraces where you can sip your Spritz listening to the birds chirp while surfing the web on the free Wifi connection. The rooms are less charming, but are functional and spacious. I would have preferred a less springy bed and a full-length mirror, but all in all it was a really convenient, tranquil stay in a super authentic part of town. I didn't take the bus into the center since I was being escorted around by a local (thanks Valeria I) but I hear that it's pretty conveniently located.

I even called a few times from the states to them to ensure we had service from the airport and just general questions. They were more then happy to assist with all of our questions and make sure we had transportation arranged. We arrived on a saturday afternoon and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We were promplty filled in on what was happening the next day and that we may want to avoid the city. The Rome marathon was the next day. We were impressed with the size of the room and bathroom. It was quite large and nicely furnished with a king size bed, large desk and dresser area some nice wing back chairs and plenty of light from a large window . Down stairs in the basement was the breakfast room, which every morning was filled with all sorts of interesting people and quiet an extensive breakfast. This was included in our room rate. A nice spread of fresh juices, cereals, coffee, tea, pasteries and of course Ham and Cheese. We were very close to many things and got to see normal life in Italy rather then everything touristy. It's about a 15 min bus ride to downtown Rome, but in such a nice area itself. It is situated up on a hill so to get to all the things around it, you take a rather large flight of stairs. The front desk staff was also very helpful when asked about things for day trips and what bus to take and other things we had no idea where to even begin to figure out. If I ever return as I hope to, I will certainly make it a point to stay here again.

The rooms are clean…read more The staff is very nice and bilingual. There is a free breakfast. All things that make staying at a hotel abroad more comfortable. The down side? You pay for internet and it barley works. I paid to stream a live show on my iPhone and this was almost impossible with this garbage internet connection. Other than that this is a decent place to stay that is affordable.

There is always someone at the front desk and they were so kind to answer any questions we had. Breakfast is complimentary and basic, but good. They supply you with a map of the city and point out all the tourist hot spots. Morpheus is in a wonderful location and is within walking distance of most places. I only gave it 4 stars, because our room was in the front by reception and at times it was a but noisy. It was just typical noise of people talking to the attendant, but we were so sleepy after a full day out that it wasn't too bothersome.
