What an amazing shop! I've had Moxie do all of my tattoos, and she never disappoints. My first was a very detailed design that gets never ending compliments. My second, I had a very minimal idea of what I wanted, and she sat patiently with me scrolling through design after design until we found exactly what I wanted. My third, I sent probably 20+ pictures picking little details from each to make up what I wanted, and she made it her own. Especially after creating a relationship with the artist, I think she knows me better than I know myself, often cutting me off mid-suggestion to let me know it was already in the works. She's a phenomenal artist who will make any design work and fit you. Whether it's an exact replica of something you've found, or a completely custom piece this shop will make it look better than you even planned! Frank is a phenomenal artist as well. Although he hasn't tattooed me yet, he has stepped in and given advice from a 3rd set of eyes when Moxie and I were stumped on tweaking designs. I decided this spring to finally go for it and get my first large tattoo and many of my coworkers/friends have been to Frank at Vintage so I figured I would go meet him and see what the vibe was like. I was immediately comfortable unlike how I have felt at many other tattoo shops where they treat you like a piece of crap for walking in the door. I have to say this is by far the nicest tattoo shop I have ever been to in my life! All the guys (Frank, Tut, Jed)are super friendly and make you feel welcome. They all have great energy and the music blares the whole time you're there distracting you from the feeling of the needle inking your skin. Frank made several drawings for me and worked with the ideas that I had and put his own spin on it---I was impressed but I was blown away the day of my first appointment when he drew the whole thing up on my back it was unbelievable! Being that moderation isn't really my thing I went from having a tiny tattoo on my left lower abdomen to this much larger lower back piece and I couldn't be happier. Frank keeps you entertained the entire time which great conversation so it goes a lot quicker than you'd expect. They set you up with aftercare instructions and ointment--simple and clear. If you follow the directions your tattoo will look great. So far everything has worked out awesome for me. Frank can be a little difficult to reach so I'd say just stop in say hi and meet everyone to figure out who will be the best fit for you. I have been using Jed as my tattoo artist for many years, even before this shop was Vintage Tattoo. I have two half sleeves, and various other tattoos and Jed has always done a remarkable job. I typically do not even see the designs Jed does before I get to the chair. I have seen Frank's work as well over the years and he is also an amazing artist. They shop is very clean and professional. Came here for my second tattoo. The guys were uber friendly and didn't make me feel dumb. Jed drew a great tattoo based on my vision. It was quite different than what I intended but turned out beautiful. I got it on my foot and it took about 50 minutes and cost 240 dollars. I thought it was pretty reasonable. I would definitely come back. He did beautiful shading. read more
