Dr. Greene has extensive medical expertise and years of experience with treating pain in trauma…read morecenters as well as chronic pain for all age populations. Please follow his advise and you will be back to living your life and being yourself again. Not all conditions and people respond the same way to medications and he works to find the most appropriate healthplan and medications that will work best for you. Dr. Greene is a kind soul and born to be a doctor. In this day and age with much regulations doctors have to monitor and this practice takes that seriously. I wish I had the right insurance or funds to self pay and be able to see him again. He's the best pain management provider I've been treated by. He also has a highly talented and educated staff working with him. I'm no stranger to pain. I was a heptathlete from age 10 to 24 and twenty plus years later have much arthritis throughout my spine knee and shoulders to show for it. I've survived 2 car crashes into my car and a moving truck collision headon into a tree during a bad storm in which I suffered broken teeth and severe soft tissue injuries, sjc joint dislocation and vertebral strains that took over a year to treat and still being treated. I've had about 12 surgeries over the years to include my back and knee. So I understand pain from patient's perspective very well and how it can take over your life. I understand pain because of my Masters degree in biology: molecular science. Dr. Greene knows how what to do to get you back to your goals. I hope you will get to be seen by Dr. Greene. He takes time with each patient and really listens to each patient. Dr. Greene continuously researches to find innovative and the best treatments for his patients. So if there was anything negative, be prepared to wait an hour to two to be seen. It will be well worth it. Hope this review helps you and to your good health.

They really don't come much better than Dr. Kendall…read more I've been a patient for almost 7 years now and there simply aren't enough words to adequately express my gratitude for the care and compassion he's shown me. I've found him very knowledgeable in his specialty and yet able and more than willing to explain a diagnosis or treatment in basic terms without being the slightest bit condescending. I've never felt rushed during an appointment or that I had anything but his complete attention. One of the best things about Dr. Kendall is his bedside manner and sense of humor. While no one ever wants to come to the doctor's office and there's sometimes a bit more pain before relief during treatments, he makes patients feel comfortable and you can tell he cares about their well being. He also understands that pain management means more than just pain relief - taking the time to understand the impact pain is having on his patient's quality of life and what activities the patient most wants to return to. He works to restore as much normalcy and activity to one's life as possible. I like that I'm active participant in deciding my treatment, often presented with options and information about them to make an informed decision as to how I wish to proceed. Should there come a situation where Dr. Kendall feels he's not the best to proceed, I like that I'm not referred off into the abyss. When one of my discs decided it no longer was content living between the vertebrae it was assigned, I landed in the ER. Already having a doctor treating me for back issues, the ER doctor called Dr Kendall to confer about treatment. A day (and MRI) later, I hobbled into Dr. Kendall's office to follow up. He reviewed my MRI and immediately let me know that I'd need surgery - at which point I'm sure my eyes got as big as saucers and I probably had panic written all over my face. But I wasn't just sent on my way with a referral slip. Dr. Kendall reassuringly said "Its OK. I'm going to send you to the person I'd go to if I needed surgery for this. But if I just give you a referral, it will take you a month to get an appointment." Then he reached over, picked up his cell phone and called the orthopedic surgeon himself. An hour later I was sitting in front of the surgeon for a consult and 4 days later had emergency surgery to reduce the ruptured disk. After a bit of recovery, I was back with Dr. Kendall resuming my regular treatment for my other back issues. He made what had the potential to be an extremely terrifying experience seem almost calm and routine. The physician assistants (PAs) and procedure assistants that Dr. Kendall selects to help him provide treatment are all great as well. All of them are very friendly and pleasant to work with, and I like that they stay with him for a long time so you don't have to deal with new people every few visits. Note: This review is for Dr. Kendall himself. I've posted reviews for the National Spine & Pain Centers offices he works out of as well: McLean / Tysons Corner (current location): http://www.yelp.com/biz/national-spine-and-pain-centers-mclean#hrid:jKVU21G7mw-F4K4Z5tjvqQ Shirlington (former location): http://www.yelp.com/biz/capitol-spine-and-pain-centers-arlington#hrid:1ugSpkbcwJr9cgA7FpZf-A

I considered Suboxone because nothing else was working. My mistake. I talked to a Suboxone prescriber and he got the wrong impression because I didn't tell him the whole story. He sent a letter saying more or less that I was an addict. I'm not. If I were I wouldn't have sar in my apt for over a month in daily Pain. I talked to the Suboxone prescriber again and told him the whole story. He then agreed Suboxone is not what I need. I'm not an addict. I need medication because I've tried everything else. Now Dr Kendall refuses to prescribe me anything. It looks like I have a long miserable road ahead. I also had to quit both of my jobs due to no pain relief. Just be very careful what you do and who you talk to. Don't make my mistake.

They don't take insurance and act like a premium medical facility, but don't live up to it…read more For my appointment the PA came in and talked/rambled for awhile about potential treatment options, then the doctor came in and talked for 2 min and sent me to PT. I ultimately decided to continue care with and in-network provider but getting records from VSI was a pain. They have an online patient portal with mostly empty tabs. I called to request my xrays and they can't upload them so I requested a CD to pickup. The CD wasn't ready when they said it would be and I had to wait 15 min for it. For my original appointment most of the few bins of snacks for patients were empty. Not a big deal, but shows poor management. I used them years ago and had a good experience, which is why I went back, but my opinion has changed

Both VSI and VSI therapy downstairs gave me my life back after a traumatic whiplash injury that…read moreresulted in cervical instability. Dr. Bharara gave me a clear diagnosis after years of me searching for answers. He gave me a treatment plan and PRP injections at VSI have been very effective for treating my injury. Dr. Bharara is also incredibly kind and knows how to listen to his patients. I originally went to another doctor at VSI who wasn't able to help my situation, but he knew to direct me to his colleague and for that I am so thankful. VSI is incredibly competent. I will forever trust them with any spine injuries or issues.
