We love the Montessori approach and feel that it helps children develop very comfortably at their own pace. All of the teachers, TA's, and administrative staff have been easy to communicate with and helped us with any concerns over the year. Being that it was her first year, I admit that I did have a lot of questions, but the staff was understanding and as the weeks went on, I felt more and more comfortable that she was safe and well taken care of and she became very comfortable with her teachers, as well as her peers. I saw how much she learned just after two months. The schedules work and have helped her thrive academically and socially. I can see her problem-solving skills have really developed, as well as her thinking. The monthly newsletters kept us informed throughout the year. The school programs are all fun to attend and see the children work together, and also see their individual personalities shine. I feel that the facility is very clean and that she's picked up some good habits over the year. She's also made some good friends with her peers and learned good manners. We love hearing about her day, her lessons, and activities when we pick her up. The pick-up and drop-off system works fairly quickly. We also love that they do STEM, art projects to bring home, gym, outdoor activities, and trips to the farm. It's a great facility and we do love the diverse staff, who are all friendly and helpful. We have enrolled her next year and can't wait to see how much more she learns and grows over the next few years with MAV.

Very sketchy place. They don't have a lot of staff who are actually experts in Early Childhood…read moreEducation. Mrs. Valentina has a bachelors in linguistics and is the Lead Teacher? I find that odd and weird. All this money this daycare wants you to pay yet it is troubling that someone in such a critical early education role does not hold a degree in Early Childhood Education. The Goddard School is not simply a time for play--it is a foundational academic daycare that supports essential cognitive, social, and emotional development. Educators in this space should have specialized training in early childhood development, instructional strategies for young learners, and knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum standards. A degree in Linguistics, while valuable, does not provide the pedagogical framework or developmental understanding required to teach effectively at this level. This situation raises concerns about the standards being upheld in early learning environments. Recognizing someone as "Teacher of the Year" who lacks a degree in Early Childhood Education not only undermines the value of that credential but also sends the message that passion alone qualifies one to lead a classroom. Passion is important--but it must be paired with relevant, formal education to ensure children receive the quality instruction they deserve.

It took me almost a year to build up the courage to send him and in the summer of 2021 he started at Goddard. Now it's the summer of 2022 and both of our children attend Goddard. Our son is a little timid in large groups and likes to play independently, in each class his "style" has been respected. We get regular updates on his days and when a little extra attention is needed from us, his teachers have been gracious enough to help us reinforce positive behaviors at home. He loves his school and his teachers, every day he has a "great day" (his words). Navigating school and childcare in the post-pandemic has not been easy but we are always thankful and appreciative of the communication and cautiousness that Goddard places on the safety of the students and teachers. I would encourage any family looking for daycare/preschool to explore Goddard!

Second the staff genuinely cares, my son has moved throughout multiple classrooms and every teacher has been nothing short of fantastic in the infant and toddler program thus far. In regards to the infant room they are GREAT about following the oz's per bottle you set, but also gently making recommendations when needed. because let's face it babies act different depending on who they're around sometimes. You get these cute little notes about things they enjoy and developmental milestones they achieve. They send home soooo much art work for you to hang on the fridge and cherish. The toddler program is also wonderful. Classroom 6,1,2, and 3 teachers were all super great. One day there was an issue, my son slept too long and he slept through a bottle and as a ftm it made me super nervous, this staff handled it like CHAMPS they were super understanding and supportive of my position and assured me it wouldn't happen again and it did not. Goes to show how great they are at not only dealing with babies but also parents. The food they receive is also amazing in my opinion their menu never fails! Overall the value of care, education, and experience you get for your child is unmatched by any other daycare I've seen. If you can get a spot here I highly recommend it!

I tried to discuss it with the teacher, that did not work so I went to the director. She not only did not hear any of my concerns, she was belittling and dismissive throughout every conversation. When I went to the OWNER of the school to discuss how the whole situation was being handled and how rude her staff was, I received the response that is attached below: "Staff members, including our management team, are not up for a discussion with parents." The facility is nice, the actual teachers really do seem to care about the kids, anyone else behind a desk was never a good experience and always made things difficult.

CPS reviewed all footage from that week in her classroom (infants). My husband and I were finally able to see it after a 2 month investigation. They found multiple instances with ALL teachers in her classroom, involving multiple children, where there is excessive force being used and negligence of the children, including my daughter. The instance of my daughter, one of the most tenured teachers in the classroom, Jhamica, was feeding her in an activity center and becomes frustrated by her not eating fast enough. She grabs a bouncer (clearly pissed) and yanks my daughter out of the activity center and proceeds to throw her down into the bouncer. I could not believe my eyes. Especially because we had so much trust for Jhamica and never saw her behave with this type force or anger, ever. This was night and day from how she behaved when we as parents were present. We were told by CPS that there was far worse treatment witnessed in their review of all the footage of this infant classroom. The "teachers" are routinely snatching the babies up by ONE ARM and tossing them onto the floor. CPS mentioned specifically in our discussion yesterday, the roughest treatment and one-armed snatching / throwing involving a boy who wears a helmet in the classroom and a girl who started walking. The "teachers" were referred to CPS as lazy, sitting in the rocking chairs almost all day long, completely ignoring the kids until absolutely necessary. There's a special place in hell for these people.

As a first-time mom with an only child, I spent a long time wondering if the things we struggled with before were just "normal." But after being here for several months now, I can confidently say: this is what early childhood education should look and feel like. One of the biggest and most immediate differences is the communication. it is phenomenal. It's basically impossible to miss an update. We get texts, emails, notes on our child's bin... anything that's happening, you're made aware of well in advance. The school's website is also current and easy to navigate, which is a small thing that speaks volumes about how organized and family-focused they are. Since starting here, our son's creativity has absolutely exploded. He actually wants to paint, draw, and do crafts on his own at home now--something he never showed much interest in before. The classroom decor is always changing and full of the children's artwork and faces. It's not just cute, it's intentional--you can see that the teachers are actively improving and refreshing the environment to keep it engaging. And don't even get me started on the pre-K graduation--it was unmatched. So stinking cute. It was one of those moments you don't forget as a parent. The effort and heart that went into it was obvious. No one else does it like this. All of these things--from the day-to-day communication to the big milestone celebrations--show how much the school reinvests into the kids, the staff, and the overall experience. Honestly, we just wish we would've come here sooner. Our son is thriving, and as parents, we finally feel at peace knowing he's in the right place. If you're a parent trying to find a school where your child will be seen, supported, and truly inspired--this is it.

This school is not what it used to be. Years ago, it had a strong reputation and long-standing teachers who had been there for 20+ years. Unfortunately, since the administration changed, there has been a clear decline. All those experienced teachers are gone, and the turnover now is extremely concerning. The biggest problem is the constant teacher turnover during the school year. Teachers leave in the middle of the term, and the classrooms never seem to have stability. This has seriously disrupted the curriculum and, more importantly, it has made my child feel uneasy. Children need consistency to feel secure and ready to learn. When my child kept seeing new teachers every few weeks, it created confusion and a lack of trust in the classroom environment to the point that drop offs went to a happy and smooth process to a nightmare because she didn't want to be there. In our case, my child had five different teachers in just the first quarter of the school year. Since then, the Spanish teachers were continued rotating with no clear continuity. Because of this, my child did not learn Spanish at the level the school promotes. Honestly, she learned more Spanish during a one-month visit with her grandparents than she did the entire year at this school, which was very disappointing. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of communication from the administration. Parents are not properly informed when these teachers' changes happen. We always find out after seeing the new teachers when we drop off, which does not build trust and leaves us feeling out of the loop. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this school. The instability in staffing, poor communication, and overall decline since the administration change have had a real negative impact on our child's learning and sense of security.

They also don't know how to assist children who are on the spectrum and send them home if they are too disruptive. Doesnt matter what you pay a week, you wont see that money again once its charged. They charge you an absurd fee if you are a few minutes early. They will call you to have your child picked up if the teachers cannot handle child like behaviors. They say they will charge half price on holidays, they always charge full price. Snowed in? Too bad you're still paying $300+ a week for daycare. The teachers we had that didnt up and quit were fantastic, its the admin that are the problem. If you look at the schools indeed reviews they are treated poorly by management.
