I'm a US Marine officer and sent three emails regarding a local WWII Marine veteran of Guadalcanal who was turning 100. They went unanswered so I went to the office in uniform where the editor refused to get out of her chair to speak. I was hoping they would at least say, "We'll do our best to cover the event." I wouldn't recommend this paper. They have shrunk the size of the paper. making it hard to read . you cant get ahold of customer service. The number provided never works Its been that way for 3 months . it cant under stand and tell you that you should make a note of there hours with out a way to leave a message for them. I'm having the same problem in canceling do to missing papers and wet papers. I was told to do it on there web page .i been to all that looks like it would bee there. read more

The "news" reports are always three days behind the times. There writers are garbage. The charge too much for what little you get, and their moron delivery people can't keep the paper off the lawn so the Sunday edition is almost always ruined by the sprinklers. read more

Less than one star. Poor service all around. Our carrier delivered an unwRapped paper during rain. When we call to get another paper delivered, we were questioned about the fact that it was raining. We were told we would be delivered a paper and never got the paper. This is a complete joke. read more

Do not subscribe to Visalia Times Delta. It is impossible to unsubscribe. Delivery has been spotty at best - about 1/3 of the papers are successfully delivered. Tired of calling in to report service issues, I have been attempting to unsubscribe for several days. There is a complicated phone tree system that requires a wait time of 15-20 minutes. No, you cannot unsubscribe online. No, you cannot unsubscribe by email. You must call this number and wait on hold or request a call back. Today I waited the requisite 23 minutes for a call back. As soon as I was transferred to a live person, they disconnected the call. This was my second attempt. I guess I have to try again. Believe me when I say I have All The Rage. The printed news industry is in its death throes and I guess this is how VTD/ Gannett desperately tries to retain customers. read more

Their survey answer-options are always very narrow, and their articles always seem to lack solid information. They really need to work on reviewing their articles before posting it online for the world to see. I mean, c'mon! You're representing Visalians! I understand that there's a high percentage of people from this city who do not invest in human capital i.e, college degrees, but at least hire people who have invested time in school, Journalism, and English so the local citizens don't waste time reading haphazardly compiled articles. read more

I signed up for a 3 months 99 cent Online edition of the Visalia Times Delta. I live in Arizona and just want to read some local Visalia news. After the first few weeks I decided it wasn't interesting so I tried to cancel. There is no way to cancel online. I tried chat and calling but they don't pickup. Now they have charged my credit card again. Instead of 99 cents is was $1.32 for some reason. I can't get them to answer the phone so I sent an email. The auto reply said they'd be right with me but still no reply. Now I'm getting irritated. I can't stop this online service and they most likely will continue to eat away at my charge card. My suggestion is to AVOID SIGNING UP FOR THEIR ONLINE PAPER UNLESS YOU WANT IT FOREVER AND EVER. read more

Horrible customer service by DYLAN. Contacted VTD last week to publish my business, filled out the required forms and emailed it. Received a returned email from VTD; however, the name on the form I reviewed was wrong and had my other business name on it, not the current one I'm opening. I emailed them back and addressed the issue. After a few days the right business name was finally correct on the publishing form. Today I contacted VTD via telephone to pay the fees and ask a few questions. I spoke with (DYLAN) who I seriously think is an oblivious, incompetent and rude individual that should not be in contact, not even via telephone, with customers. I informed him of my previous issue and asked to confirm the right business name was on the form that will be published. He immediately stated "they had no legal training and will publish as is". I was confused as I did not ask for legal advice. I simply asked to confirm the right business name was on the form that will be published. Lastly, he was unable to answer a simple question and ended the conversation by saying "okay, your paperwork was submitted and will be processed soon". At this point I knew this guy had no freaking clue on what he was doing, or what was going on, therefore, I said thank you and ended the conversation. It should be noted, during the conversation, DYLAN kept interrupting me, and his tone was other than professional. Last time I do business with VTD. Save your time, money and go elsewhere. read more

This is the worst paper ever. Pathetic coverage. Won't let you put paper on hold with less than 48 hour notice . And now without notice adding $4 to bill for the crappy Thanksgiving edition. Why are we paying for the adds!? Don't the businesses buying the adds pay for them? After our horrible delivery fiasco this summer ( we didn't get our paper delivered for several weeks even though we called everyday and were assured we'd get it the next day) this may be the last straw. #visaliatimesdeltasucks. I had the same issue with the online subscription and I had a complaint regarding the service from an online chat representative. I went online and submitted a formal complaint with the BBB and I was able to cancel and get my online subscription refunded. A representative from The Visalia Times Delta called me and expressed his apology for the bad service I had received and issued my refund. I suggest you do the same. read more

I use to love this paper I liked the set up of all the pages so what happened Friday choices i looked forward to restaurant articles and coupons now I line my birdcage with it.
