Middleton Blinds is the largest "Blind" provider of Middleton (as suggested by the name), a small…read moretown in Manchester which isn't too far from the main city centre (Around 5 miles or a bus ride which takes around half an hour). After the competition of renovation work in my house, I decided to use Middleton Blinds to purchase and install some black-out roller blinds. I had a mixed experience with their service. It started off with a quote, where they came to my home and measured everything and talked me through the different types of blinds, I don't like having sales-people in my home, as I never feel too comfortable or happy with it, but I consider myself a strong and assertive person to manage to revert their sales tricks on them, but I found them to be quite professional in measuring everything and giving quotes, without being too pushy. The location of their warehouse is a little difficult to get to, it is basically opposite the main bus station but it's hard to walk to the location as it is a roundabout, and then a business/estate park so you do really need to have a car to visit - even though it's in the centre of the town which isn't great. I also didn't like how I had to go to them to have a look at different types and colours. Upon putting my order in, I was also confused at how long they'd take - for me having to wait three weeks for blinds is pretty poor, surely a company which specialises in and only makes blinds and claims to have the material in stock doesn't need this long? I later found out multiple other nearby companies, even those based much further away wouldn't have taken this long - What are they waiting for? Pricing was competitive, maybe a tad more expensive than rivals but nothing to hurt your pocket too much. Issues with parts of the service being inconvenient and the fact they didn't offer any assistance or advise through the light-gaps around the blinds (my room isn't fully dark / black-out because some light still gets in)m, I get they cant build it exactly around the window without damaging the fabric but still being advised this especially when I told them I wanted my room pitch-black for me is poor service, I feel a company like this should explain every last detail to the customer as it is a custom product in many ways (not that my windows were bigger / smaller than average). 2* - Decent quality product but multiple issues including lead time which would make me prefer to choose a different provider in the future.

They offer some great deals that are advertised in the local papers. They have a fantastic range of materials and styles and have something to suit most budgets. When they came to fit the blinds they also brought an extra slat for each room that had all the measurements on so if you needed to order any spares, you have all the info there ready. The sales / fitting team that dealt with my order were very professional and arranged the appointments at convenient times. Well the home advisor that came to leave me a quote made a very good impression, was organised and…read moreknew what he was talking about, at the end of the day i wanted a good price and a good long lasting product, after all i don't plan on getting my double glazing done every few months so i got quotes from a few of the big name firms. Sureglaze gave me a competitive price and promised me quality so i let them do the front of my house kinda like a tester, i liked the samples and qualiity of product was probably the best i had seen but i had doubts and felt somthing wasn't right. They said it is cash on completion and you only make payment when the job is done up to your satisfaction so after we agreed on a price i gave the chap a £60 deposit. After this i got calls regularly updating me on the details of the order, surevey and the date they were going to fit, customer service as far as i have seen has been perfect and very organised. The fitters came round last week, this is about 3 weeks after i went ahead. the window fitters first covered all our furniture etc in plastic sheets, then they installed the windows and the front door. After the work was completed they cleaned up and the place was spotless. The one thing i didn't like was cigarette ends left by one of the window fitters in our drive, i don't smoke so don't appreciate that so have let Sureglaze know and they have apologised and said it won't happen again. Overall Sureglaze did an excellent job, i will be getting the back of the house done very soon and hopefully some solar panels in the future if and when i have the money. Prior to finalizing on Sureglaze I and my wife had decided to get at least 3 quotes. Out of the three Sureglaze were top when it came to quality of the product. Right from the salesman to the installation the process was very smooth and professional. However, the only problem was that the price was a bit higher than other companies but given the quality we now think it is justified. The bathroom and one bedroom that we did do were so cold but after replacing these windows they are now the warmest part of the house. We wish we had enough money to get the whole house done in one go. So we have decided to save enough money that will allow us to get the remainder of the 7 windows 2 or 3 at a time.
