I took my 90 years old mother to Visionworks in Paducah to get new glasses. We originally went there because they told us that they would accept my mother's insurance. Turns out the insurance only covered the exam and we ended up paying over $150 for the frame. In addition, my mother was upsold the anti-glare feature which turned out to be some sort of coating that actually caused everything to appear blurred. It wasn't worth it. It took several weeks to take delivery and several trips to Paducah - about a 50 mile trip one way. The frame broke within a month and, when we talked to Visionworks about replacing or repairing the glasses, they told us that that frame was no longer available and that we would have to choose a new frame. This meant another wait of several weeks plus more trips to Paducah. No warranty - no nothing. Finally, we went to the optometrist in Cadiz, Ky and they found a frame that fit my mother's lenses within a few minutes. So, my question is: "Why couldn't Visionworks do that?" The only answer I can think of is that Visionworks didn't want to fool with it and my elderly mother is just too much of a bother to them. read more

Was told I had 100 days if I had a problem with glasses they would replace the, but when I called with a problem with lenses I was told only frames were included. I wo do business there again read more

EXTREMELY impressed. I have worn glasses for 40 years, my husband has never worn glasses. Needless to say I have had a TON of experiences both with eye exams and eyeglasses. From the time we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. They explained the process, they didn't just point and tell us where to go, they escorted us to where we needed to be. The eye exam was extremely efficient and thorough . Once that was done someone else introduced themselves (Vicky) and said they would be with us in a minute to help with the glasses. She was extremely helpful and thorough helping us with our new glasses. Made suggestions based on our jobs & lifestyle. I got an eye exam and new glasses. I don't know why I left with these glasses. The lens on one side was wobbling in the frame. They didn't adjust my glasses correctly and after a week I realized my eyes would never adjust to them the way they were adjusted. Now I can't clean my glasses without the lens popping out, and my eyes are worse than ever. I won't be getting my next pair there. read more

Not very efficient had a appointment waited over a hr before i saw the doctor why even make appointments if they can't keep a schedule

All of my families glasses were messed up as well as my contacts. Also, my glasses we're supposed to be the kind that can't scratch and we paid good money for it and there is now a giant scratch all the way across the right eyes glass. Will never come back here. Also, you could tell my contacts weren't right because they gave them to me right alway. Everywhere else they had to mail them to me so they could make them right! read more

My wife and I needed new glasses. We brought our prescription to Visionworks to purchase 2 new pairs of glasses, total with bifocals $1,400. Allison took care of the details to order the new glasses. She took our information and compared our insurance versus paying outright for one pair of glasses with the other pair totally (limited time offer) free. She saved us $400 I would have paid out of pocket using my insurance! Allison was very efficient, and well versed in explaining the features we purchased with our new glasses. I was taken back how good she was and ask how long she had been with the company? She responed: "I started about 6 weeks ago". My wife commented, she was very knowledgeable for someone who just started! We are very pleased with our experience with Visionworks. read more

I would like to thank Erika and Ton' for working together so hard to get me glasses and contacts. I wanted contacts for distance and reading glasses and they tried so hard to meet my budget and I thank them for that. My wife and I both thought all of the employes were great and the Doctors. As a business owner myself, I don't usually believe in giving negative reviews, but I would give this place less than one star if possible. Exceptionally terrible place! The end of last year I went to Vision Works to get contacts. After three exams, the physician finally gave me a prescription I could see out of. I wore those contacts until the beginning of this year, when my allowance for glasses was active on my insurance. I went back to take advantage of the "buy one, get one free" sale advertised. After waiting an hour and a half and picking out two pairs of glasses amongst all the chaos in the store, I was told that the "buy one get one free" sale is NOT for customers with insurance. They would instead give me a buy one, get one half off. Knowing my insurance coverages, I decided to go ahead- that was until the Rep finished entering the glasses and said I owed $400.00! Impossible! I argued with every person in the store- because nobody could tell me where the balance came from, what amounts I was being charged, or how much allowance was used from my insurance- and, they had already charged my card. I even offered to call my insurance rep, so they could tell them my coverages! Finally, another girl decided she could give me a full refund, re-enter the transaction completely and try to tell me what exactly I was paying for (that's the only way she could tell me!!!??)- but the refund would take 3-4 business days to go onto my card AND she said she couldn't guarantee that my benefits would go back to the insurance, so it may appear that I had already gotten glasses this year and not be allowed to purchase again, by my insurance company, until next year. So basically, I couldn't even ask for a full refund and go somewhere else, because I HAD to have glasses. I ended up walking out with one pair of $400.00 glasses and a promise that the other pair would be in within 20 days. OH BUT THERE'S MORE. I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's and since the end of last year had experienced times when I would be at work and then all the sudden my eyes wouldn't focus at all- I couldn't see to work, to call anyone on my phone, to read, to write, NOTHING- and this was WITH my contacts in, so I had made an appointment with an Ophthalmologist (a real one, not one in Vision Works). Yesterday I went to this appointment, fearing the worse, because Crohn's can affect your eyes in serious ways and my issues had gotten so bad I couldn't even fill out the patient forms at the front desk! Nothing serious though- except that the glasses that I just spent $400 on and the exam that took three times are NOT CORRECT! I actually should have either been given bifocals or two different prescriptions- one for distance and one for reading. I now sit here writing this review with two new pairs of glasses (oh and the 6 months supply of contacts I ordered from VisionWorks the day before I went for glasses) a total of $680.00 spent and I am wearing a $5 pair of Dollar Store glasses because NONE of these glasses or contacts can be used by me to read, write, work, etc! What does the manager of VisionWorks have to say?? That's a good question- I've called several locations and nobody seems to know where he is or how to reach him! I will continue to let people know what happened to me and contact the Business Bureau, as I have never received such awful service! read more
