They kindly helped us organise our visit at Egeskov castle. Breakfast is very diversified, we were able to eat a different breakfast every day. Note that breakfast ends at 9:30 which is a little early but still. I used the laundry service, and I thought it was quite pricy, but I guess laundry service is pricy in every hotel (and it was still 4 times cheaper than in Norway). The hotel is close to the train station, and near restaurants and parks. I highly recommend.

Over the decades, it has been expanded and modernized, giving the building a unique blend of historic charm and contemporary comfort. However, the various additions and renovations have resulted in somewhat long and cumbersome pathways within the hotel, as well as an inconsistent look and feel--a minor drawback that also contributes to the hotel's character. Room & Amenities My room was spacious, featuring a comfortable couch and a safe. Unfortunately, there was no refrigerator, which would have been practical for longer stays. The bed was very comfortable and inviting for relaxation. However, the lack of air conditioning was an issue: with the high temperatures during my stay, the room became quite warm. To make matters worse, one window could not be opened--and it wasn't repaired during my stay--limiting ventilation and exacerbating the heat. Breakfast & Service The continental breakfast was a highlight: a generous buffet in a beautiful, historic dining room with a good selection of local specialties. The only downside was the single coffee machine, which led to short waits during peak times. The service was consistently friendly and helpful--from the quick check-in and check-out to the small attentions throughout my stay. The staff made my experience pleasant. Location & Surroundings The central location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Odense. However, it was a bit noisy on the weekend due to the open windows (and the lack of air conditioning), as the street in front of the hotel is quite lively. A clearly marked unloading zone for guests with luggage would have been helpful, as it wasn't immediately obvious where to find it. Leisure Facilities The fitness center was decently equipped, though towels and a drink dispenser would have enhanced the comfort. Conclusion: First Hotel Grand Odense is a charming hotel that impresses with its historic atmosphere, central location, and excellent service. A few minor issues--such as the lack of air conditioning, the broken window, or the long corridors--slightly detract from the overall experience but are not enough to discourage a recommendation. With a few adjustments, a stay here could be even more perfect.

We had a couple minor hiccups, but nothing terrible, and they were fixed fairly quickly. We did get warm during the night, however, and the provided fan didn't do enough for us to sleep as comfortably as we would have liked. One little note: At 10:00 on the dot, breakfast is over! They clear the food faster than a sonic boom!

As a member of Hostelling International, Danhostels are not your average backpacker's bunk. The Kerteminde site is no exception. We booked on Booking.com where the price was inclusion of the bedding package and morning breakfast buffet. Our rooms were clean and modern and large enough to accommodate our traveling family of 5 easily. Bathrooms en suite were nice, although showers must be quick as water heaters are small! All rooms open to the center yard with ping pong table, chairs, sand pit and giant chess/checker board. There is a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and plates, glasses, utensils to use in the adjoining dining room. Slightly outside of darling little Kerteminde, it is a 5-10 minute walk to the shops and harbor. A huge green space for playing, kicking a ball or just running off steam is great for the kids. Breakfast buffet had typical Scandi offerings of breads and rolls with meats, cheeses, eggs, fruit, yogurts and meusli toppings, coffee, tea and juice. Great for our family, we would definitely return!

We really enjoyed the breakfast, which is just like the hotel, simple but very good quality. We liked that there is a large pitcher of orange juice and a big thermos of coffee on each table. The rolls are excellent quality and the cheese is delicious. I would go back just for those rolls. I wish we could get them back home. The guy who runs the place is very friendly. Overall it was a good stay and we would return.

A real nice room, access to kitchen and bathroom, more than 100 channels on the flatscreen TV for less than 500 DKK per night is a sweet deal!! And if you opt for the breakfast deal you will not regret. Only 50 DKK per person is a steal:-D. See pictures if you're not convinced:-). The best part is that Billesgade B&B is situated a mere 7 minute walk from the city centre. P.S. Look out for the Danish bikers. They do not brake for anyone:-(

Only downside is that the walls are thin, so even if your neighbours are quiet, you may still wake up if they use the bathroom at nighttime. This of course because you have a tendency to sleep lightly the first couple of nights you stay at a new place. But indeed not something to complain about. It is just what it is. But overall a very good place to spend the night, close to the centre, free parking if you are traveling by car and cheap. Highly recommended.

The Ferielejlighed (try to say that 3 times fast if you're not a native Danish speaker!) is a…read morebeautiful and spacious vacation rental apartment, located in the heart of Kerteminde and within walking distance of almost anything you could possibly need (groceries, bakeries, retail stores, restaurants, the harbor, marina and beach!). We had the good fortune to rent this place for a couple of weeks in December and could not have been happier with how it turned out. The apartment was well furnished, spacious and located on the first floor (in the American parlance anyway), with parking literally within a few feet of the doorstep along a one-way street. There is a well stocked kitchen, private bathroom, laundry room, living room, dining room and combination bedroom/office. You also have access to a shared patio/garden, not visible from the street, which gives you a place to get outside for some fresh air while still having some privacy. Free Wi-Fi, cable TV and all utilities are included. Peter (the owner) was great to work with and went above and beyond to help shuttle some of our party between the train station and his other bed and breakfast, where they stayed for the first two days until the apartment was available. At that point, he also helped them move over and to the apartment. Absolutely top notch customer service and I cannot thank him enough for how well he looked after our party. If you're looking for accommodations in Kerteminde specifically, or anywhere nearby in Northeast Fyn, this place deserve serious consideration. Kerteminde is a beautiful town and this is a wonderful rental apartment to stay in. I will definitely be using them again the next time we need a place to stay.
