This museum is a "must see" if you are anywhere near Aveiro Portugal. The glass and ceramics here are world famous and there are thousands of pieces shown that were made for presidents, and kings over the centuries. You can visit a floor with artists hand painting individual pieces - no talking in this section; don't disturb the artists.
Built by an entrepreneur in the 1820's the complex includes factory, workers housing, school, fire department, a beautiful church. The entire property is fantastic, and the museum itself is even better. Be prepared for the gift shop, it is stunning and priced accordingly.
