We cannot say enough about this company! A massive storm rolled through Burnet the Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend and took out a huge oak limb at the lake house. (Of COURSE it had to be a holiday weekend!) Luckily it did not do any damage to where it fell next to the guest house nor the vehicles that were in the driveway; however, there were renters there for the weekend, so we needed to act fast. We started reaching out to businesses on Friday night and Justin answered the phone well after hours on a Friday. We agreed to meet the next day (Saturday). Justin and his crew were on time and did a phenomenal job. Removing a limb of that size near the guest house and the renter's vehicles was nerve wracking, but we instantly could tell they knew what they were doing. They took every safety measure and precaution to make sure the HUGE limb fell exactly where it needed to. Justin was incredibly professional from the beginning, until the very end, cleaning up to the point you could not even tell anything had happened. I don't leave reviews unless I am fundamentally impressed with a particular craftsman or business. Period. It's just not worth my time to single out extremely disappointing experiences - or middle of the road service. Vista exceeds my threshold and then some. Justin, the business owner, is highly motivated and knowledgeable. He learned his craft from another competitor in the area, and is quick to acknowledge his gratitude and respect for his former employers. I find that most admirable of all, as it is easy to criticize an old boss as a way of trying to draw a distinction between your business and another, and the mark of a man when they won't. There were methods and best practices he learned at his former location that he thought he should mirror, and still other factors that he believed he could improve upon. Examples of this include safety, hiring of truly exceptional staff, and post-job cleanup, all of which are critical to Tree Service work, but paramount amongst them is surely safety. Having been in the military I know that attention to detail and close teamwork and communication are often the difference between a job well done and potential disaster. These guys are pros. Equal parts super-athletes, careful and deliberate professionals, lithe and lean and yet also tough and strong. He doesn't hire slackers or men who don't pull their weight. Everyone covers for one another. I took his bid out of 4 total because it was the cheapest. One would never know it though, and if he soon charges at or above the area industry standard rate, don't hesitate to pay it. It's worth it to know your house is going to be protected, the trees will be perfectly shaped, and no-one will likely get injured on your property. I would also like to specifically recognize the expertise and competence of James, the job foreman at my household. I found this place by asking for tree trimming bids on Yelp and they were on the ball from the get go. They were quick to do an estimate and provide helpful explanations of what they were looking to do. They were proactively communicative as we got things scheduled and when it came time to do the service, it was top notch and affordable. If you want this to go smoothly I suggest you send them photos of the work you want done and they are pretty knowledgeable to fill in the rest. On trimming day, they arrived with a crew of 3 and were done with my 3 big trees plus the fence line (clearing away some of my neighbor's overhang) in a little over an hour. I watched part of it and I know it was fast because they were good at what they do and had good tools. One of the guys on the crew talked to me for a bit about how one of my trees on a slope was lacking in nutrients and suggested some care and fertilizers I could acquire on my own for it though he did say that if I didn't feel like it they had friends that could do it for me. (Very low pressure) Anyway, I came out of it wishing I had done this sooner and perhaps more regularly. He arrived on-time with a crew of three people. Very professional. They did everything they said they would do and then some! But Justin's confidence in his crew and his general approach to talking through the project was what led me to decide to go with him and I was not disappointed. He even went we me to the HOA to talk with the folks there. We had tree trimming and removals planned. His team was in early in the day and worked through until sunset without much rest. They were in and out in one and a half days which was very impressive given the number of trees they had to work on (trimming 15 and removing 5). His team was a very fast, coordinated and an efficient bunch who clearly loved what they do, which, I think, had a big part to play in the great quality work they delivered. Justin and Vista tree service responded very quickly to my questions about some noxious weeds and poison ivy we had growing in tree beds at a brand new house we just had built. He gave a ballpark quote that was great and came out quickly. The used an axe to ensure they got the whole root out and not just what was on top. While there he also have some helpful advise on my mature oak trees and discussed what they could do in the future. I will have them back to treat those trees next year when trimming is needed. I found Vista Tree Service when I requested a quote on one of the other tree service businesses on Yelp to trim back some trees away from the house and clean up/remove a partially fallen large cactus. I had checked the 'allow multiple bids' option, and Vista's owner Justin was incredibly quick to respond and was able to come out the same day to give an estimate and scheduled the work the next day. They were very courteous and professional and made quick work of the project, including trimming up a palm tree and a mountain laurel (and a few other miscellaneous things they suggested during our review of the property) in about 2 and a half hours, including cleaning up after. I could not have been happier and more impressed with Vista Tree Service. I had an issue with trees hitting our house. I specified what I wanted done. Justin came out and said he could do what I asked but recommended an alternative. He had quite a few stats regarding how far back you can trim a tree and how to train them in order to maximize the benefits of the tree and limit the drawbacks. He stacked the large limbs for firewood and hauled off the brush including all the leaves that dropped. The end result was better than I asked for and he didn't charge me anything extra.
