She even called to follow up to make sure I was improving -- which I truly appreciated and speaks to her professionalism and care. However, I was disappointed to later learn how the financial side of the practice operates. My first visit ended up costing around $400, largely due to an x-ray. When I tried to schedule a follow-up a month later -- after a minor head injury that had already been cleared in the ER -- I was told I'd need to pay another $80 "reevaluation" fee, the regular $65 visit fee, and another x-ray. While I can acknowledge her skill and caring bedside manner, this approach feels more financially driven than patient-centered. If cost isn't a concern and you wish to support a practitioner who provides competent chiropractic care, this could be the chiropractor for you. But for those mindful of healthcare expenses, it's important to know what to expect up front.

I was forced to make a $75 deposit to schedule my first appointment. I asked about what would…read morehappen with that money after, if it would be refunded, and the receptionist said that it typically covers most of the initial appointment. I paid with my HSA card. Turns out that the chiropractor charged a non-covered medical expense to my account on my first visit that conveniently cost $75, in addition to the "first visit" cost that I was expecting to be charged for. The $75 charge was so obviously not covered that they didn't even bother billing my insurance for it. It was for some kind of electric scan for my spine. The chiropractor calls it "MyoVision" and he did it at the first appointment. I got no heads up that it was optional and that it was not covered by insurance. It was useless since my issue doesn't have to do with my spine. Now I'm stuck with a non-covered expense on a card it shouldn't have been charged to since it's HSA and not a covered medical expense, and out $75 I didn't want or need to spend.
