The views are amazing and so are the grounds, if we were able to actually walk them. Check in is at two but the beach and pool closes at five. So no moonlit strolls on the beach or sunset swims. We wanted to drink a bottle of wine on our terrace and when we asked the bartender for a bucket of ice and two wine glasses, we were met with a huff and quarter of a bucket of ice. He said there was no more ice. When I asked "in the whole hotel?" He said "in this machine and it's the only one." I truly doubt that. We have been touring Spain, France, and Italy for the past few weeks and this is by far the rudest people we've experienced. We bought an expensive bottle of wine earlier, overlooked the sea, and service was good. I'm not sure what happened in the two hours we were gone.

My husband and I while planning our honeymoon loved the look of it. Plus, parts of it were originally an 11th Century Fortress (the hotel was built around it). Pretty cool. The grounds were gorgeous. The beach was fun to use. I loved the mix of Mediterranean and Arabic. It also helps that the Amalfi Coast of Italy is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Around every crazy bend on the S.S. 163 Costiera Amalfitana, is breath taking, and not for the faint of heart (the road is full of S curves, and no shoulder to speak of). For that I would take the bus to get to Amalfi/Saraceno. We were coming from Sorrento, and the drive was amazing. When staying here, spend time in the town of Amalfi if possible, its amazing as well. But I'm getting off topic here. Back to the hotel, The room we stayed in had beautiful blue and gold accents throughout from the tiles, to the stained glass and painted ceilings. I believe this was the only hotel in Italy I actually got a bathtub in, now that I think about it! The view from our room was perfect for sunset and sunrise over the Mediterranean. The staff were all very nice. There was a shuttle from the town of Amalfi to the Hotel, which was great. Realistically most of our night was spent just wandering around the areas and grounds of the hotel. We didn't eat dinner service here, due to being on a tight budget ... we still had a fair amount of our trip left. But the menu and ambiance for dinner service looked stunning. We were even so fortunate to stay on an evening when there was a fireworks show at Midnight. It was quite spectacular (and random, we never found an explanation for the fireworks) actually. We woke up early the next morning and I watch the sherbet colored skies over the mediterranean from my room as I got ready. The breakfast buffet that was included with our room was very well stocked and had a nice selection of proteins, pastries and beverages. If your budget allows, and you are in the area, I would definitely recommend this hotel!
