This was by far the most frustrating and disappointing experience I've ever had with an airline. The customer service team at LAX was incredibly unhelpful and left me feeling completely unheard. I had been looking forward to spending quality time with my mother in Mexico, accompanied by my two daughters, for months. This trip meant so much to me, and I had carefully planned every detail. When I arrived to check in, I was informed that I needed a notarized letter for my 13-year-old daughter. Despite having her passport and being her parent, I had never been asked for such documentation by any other airline. I was told that I could not check in without this letter. In a frantic attempt to resolve the issue, I called multiple notary services and was fortunate enough to find a mobile notary who rushed to LAX with my husband. However, the situation took a worse turn when I was not informed that the check-in area would be closing at 7:30 AM, an hour before my flight at 8:30 AM. When I explained that I was in the process of obtaining the letter and had TSA pre-check to expedite security, the agent dismissed me and said nothing could be done. They closed the check-in area as scheduled, leaving me stranded. I paid an additional $150 for the notarized letter and was told by the airline that I should call customer service for flight rebooking. Unfortunately, when I contacted customer service, they refused to help, denied me a refund, and insisted I had to write a formal letter to request any assistance. This entire ordeal was completely disheartening. It left my daughters confused and distressed, and it ruined our New Year's celebration and family plans. To make matters worse, I have sent two emails to customer service and have yet to receive a response. This experience was beyond frustrating and has left me deeply disappointed in the level of service provided. I am still awaiting a resolution and hope to hear from someone soon. We used Viva Aerobus to transport our cats from Colombia to Chicago. On the trip to Chicago, we had to receive the cats at the cargo section of the airport after midnight. Before the offices closed, we went to confirm that the location our Pet Services representative told us was correct and to talk with someone at the office to confirm that someone would be there to release the cats. Everything was confirmed. At the time of arrival, an employee, Julio, was there to greet us. He left to receive the cats, but did not return until 4 in the morning- all the while we were sitting in a parking lot in the wee-hours of the morning. He claimed that no one would surrender the cats to him due to lack of paperwork (which was not true- our broker turned everything in). We went back to our hotel room after Julio told us we should come back at 8am when the office opened. At 6am, the cats' Airtags marked them BACK in Mexico- they had arrived to Chicago but then sent back to Mexico. Had it not been for the Airtags, no one would have known where the cats had gone! No one was at the airport in MX to receive them again. It took hours for anyone to confirm that they were in Mexico. No one would take responsibility for the mistake- and the story Julio told us about the paperwork wasn't true as the cats would have already been returning to Mexico by the time we spoke with him. The cats returned to Chicago, 24 hours later and due to my diligence at the office all day, the workers at the office, Julio and Luis, made sure the cats were successfully released to me upon arrival. Due to this grave mistake, we needed to stay an extra night in Chicago, spend more money on food and lodging than expected. The cats were in terrible shape- they were extremely distraught and full of their own urine and fecal matter. The airline has not responded for any of the extra charges we assumed due to their error, nor to the toll their error had on our pets that were entrusted to their care. read more

Me colgo y volvi a llamar y me contesto otro chico y le pedi que me comunicarra con un supervisor. Luego me dijo que no puede pasar asta que tenga el motivo. We booked flights for friends and family to come to our wedding in Punta de Mita. All checked in with Viva agents and all received boarding passes noting the flight was leaving at gate 13. At some point the airline changed the gate but never made an announcement nor notification by text as they normally would. The only people that knew of the change were those that downloaded and checked the Viva app, stranding 21 people (we know of). When we first spoke to Viva we were told we would be credited but those credits were rescinded today and we were told that yes, the gate changed and yes the flight left late from gate 17- not 13, but we would not be vredited as promised. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I'd be transferred. Instead, after another 15 minutes on hold they cut the call. This call began with a 44-minute hold time. I fly often on Mexican airlines because we have a house in Mita. As someone that also travels to Europe and abroad every year, using a combination of major carriers and LCCs I can say with confidence that both Mexican airlines; Viva Aerobus and Volaris are about the worst in the entire world. They are crooks and run airlines in a similar fashion to the country's notorious cartels- without concern for any consequence nor how they affect our lives. I travel all over the world and have never had such a bad experience! Get this and why I had to warn people of this horrible airline viva aerobus, especially if you're traveling with a service dog. We live in puerto Vallarta, we drove 30 minutes to the airport way before we bought our travel tickets to confirm what paper work does viva require, we spoke to a manager at viva in PV and she went through our paper work and said all you need is a health certificate. So we proceeded to buy our tickets and we arrived to the Puerto Vallarta airport, no issues, we got on our flight to Mexico City! We then spent a few days in Mexico City, then jump on the next flight to bacalar on viva, again no issues whatsoever. We landed in bacalar and spent 3 days, we headed back to the airport in Chetamul airport to flight back to Mexico City and the viva agent said sorry you can't board your flight because you don't have the proper paper work. We explained very nice and showed proof that we had been flying and have had no issues. It escalated to her completely not allowing us to fly back home and no accountability whatsoever for viva aero flying us all the way across Mexico with no issues and leaving us stranded in bacalar, they had no care in the world!! I should have looked at the reviews before booking my roundtrip ticket. Despite all this, staff are nice and answering questions. 1) Vivo Aerobus changed my flight a whole day in advance a few days prior to trip. I was given option to accept or speak to an agent who was supposed to call me. 2) I opted for a Vivo Aerobus agent to call me. They never did. I tried calling them and no one answered. 3) I had to go to the airport to speak with a counter representative. They told me Vivo Aerobus booked me for the rescheduled flight. I was never told this. I never got an email or the phone call. 4) Flight is delayed now about 3 hours. It is 1:45pm. No indication on any monitors and the departure gate is also not labeled with our flight. No update on departure time since 11 am. I just followed the crowd and luckily got to the right place. *Update* You can report to US Dept.
