I stayed…read morein a hotel up the street called the Hotel Continental (great deal!) and they have an agreement with this gym so you get free passes. They have classes and a pretty complete weights floor with lots of cardio equipment. The gym is floor is expansive and has nice subdued lighting and they have some really fun healthy vending machines...even one with açaí super food cups. The crowd is diverse and very polite as people tend to be in Switzerland. The locker rooms are large and there are showers, steam rooms and saunas. I didn't see any towel service so definitely bring your own towel and also bring your own lock so you can lock your locker as I believe you may have to buy one otherwise. Any padlock will do; even a small luggage lock works to secure the lockers, which is what I used. It might be a good idea to bring your own flip-flops or shower sandals too, if you plan on taking a shower and using the sauna/steamroom. It seems that if you get there by 9:20 pm you can stay until 11pm. At least that's what the front desk said! Official hours for the gym are 5:00 AM to 11 PM Monday to Sunday. There are training coaches available 7:00 AM to 9:40 PM Monday to Friday and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy your workout.

The pool is often completely empty on the weekends and a Sunday morning doing some laps in an empty pool is just bliss. There's typically machines for everyone (with the exception of the traditional ellipticals which they only have 3 of, and are in high demand almost any time - which is a shame since they're my favourite!)... nice white fluffy towel service and friendly staff.

Lovely swimming pool but don't go in your English swimming shorts (Bermuda style) or even in…read moreAustralian sun protection swimming stuff as they won't let you swim. There are notices warning you at the door and the lifeguards will pull your children out of the water for infringements. Boys and men have to wear speedo type trunks. No idea why. No idea if it is the material or the length they are objecting to. My son got away with wearing his sister's bikini bottoms but, as you can imagine, he was not keen on doing so. But once you've obeyed the dress code it is a lovely place with a water slide, a big pool, a smaller pool that is deep enough to learn to swim but not deep enough to scare you and all the other things that French pools so so well - so you could easily spend most of a day here (though it gets cheaper after 5pm)
