You step down a typical 600-year-old street into a fabulous stone building with a thick wooden door. Depending on which room you choose, you will overlook the street or possibly the Duomo. The rooms are spare but cozy. A fridge is provided for those (like me) who are happy to eat salads, cheese and bread and spend a little less on food. The owner Deborah is a native English speaker fluent in Italian, who can make suggestions for sight seeing, restaurants or anything going on in Tuscany. Though this is not a hotel with chocolates and turn-down service, if you need shampoo, extra towels, just ask Deborah; she is an amazing host. Attilio Camere is an incredible value for a typically expensive region and I will definitely be back.

We found this on Booking.com the day of our stay as we needed a place to stay on our way from Venice to Rome and left this leg of the journey unplanned until the date of arrival. Arezzo seemed like a good half way stopping point suggested by a family member and it made a great choice, we loved the town and would visit again. The center of town is charming although this Bed and Breakfast is about 10-15 minutes from the City Center. Print out directions and clarify before you arrive, another tricky spot to find. The 300 year old home is a family home run by a husband and wife team. The rooms are clean, linens and bed the most comfortable of our entire trip, breakfast was lovely with picturesque views of the garden and countryside. There is a hot tub advertised but it was not hot nor would it get hot as we learned it takes over an hour to raise 1 degree of temperature per hour. If it was hot my husband would have taken a quick soak upon arrival, so slight bummer there because the views from the terrace were lovely. The nice owners made up for it slight hot tub disappointment by giving us directions and suggestions for dining in town. We ended up enjoying our evening in town. The home itself is sturdy and charming, loved the rustic kitchen with wood burning stove. Appreciated the fine mesh screens on bedroom windows to keep mosquitoes out when windows were opened at night, the only place we stayed with screens. We would stay again.

My husband and I also spent a lot of time in the gardens which are absolutely spectacular. There were other guests at the abbey (we learned at breakfast) but we had the grounds pretty much to ourselves, took a million photos. We did wine tasting and tour (thanks to our amazing guide, Giulia!), the old crypts which are now wine cellars are a must during your visit! And we had dinner at the restaurant next door (it was one of the best dinners I've had while in Italy! The food and the views exceeded my expectations). Highly recommend this special place, I will never forget our time here. Oh, and the air was the sweetest, so clean and fresh. I wish we had one more day here so I could do a cooking class (they offer it but I didn't have time).

The B&B is set up in a 1000 year old abbey but with the modern conveniences of plumbing, a business center and swimming pool (no TVs in the room though!). A dip in wonderfully cool water is just the refreshment needed to perk up the stamina on a two week trip. The restaurant next door is quite nice while breathtaking views of the countryside. The easiest way to get here from Florence is to take the train from Firenze S.M.N to Montevarchi for €7. There's a taxi stand outside the Montevarchi train station that will take you to the hotel for €30 (one way). Don't forget to stop by the Prada Outlet while you're in the area :-)

She serves a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning and provides a very comfortable accommodation. The building is from the 14th century and has been in her family for the last 200 years. It is full of History, is elegant, and definitely from a bygone era. The room was very comfortable and the bathrooms have been modernized over the last many years. It's very quiet. In the afternoon, tea and biscotti are offered. Elisa goes out of her way to help us in any way she can. We're here during a train strike and she did the research to ensure that we would be able to easily get on to our next destination without difficulty. The hotel is an incredible value and great location in the medieval section of town, very close to Palazzo Publico and many other sites.

The bed and breakfast is charming, spotless, and very comfortable. I agree that this is one of the best breakfasts in Italy. I can't say enough about our host Gianni who helped us figure out the details of our tours and transportation during our 5 day visit (two wineries, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, and Sienna). He and his family were very hospitable and made us feel like we were the only ones there. One day we'll be back, gazing at the beautiful view from the terrace and sipping on a glass of wine.

From the very first moment we arrived everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were very good about suggesting places to visit and the best routes to get there. The breakfast was very good including fresh sqeezed orange juice. The room was spacious and clean with nice views of the garden side. It is a 30 minutes walk uphill into the town center. The walk for the ceneter is fine, but if you need you can use the bus nr 4, 5,9 or 10 to go into the center of Siena, they also have a parking palces for the cars. We highly recommend Villa Patrizia Siena B&B and will stay there again when we return to Siena.

What a beautiful venue in a beautiful part of Tuscany. We occupied many of the Bed & Breakfast's rooms; some shared rooms and others had rooms or suites to themselves. Il Sole del Sodo is run by the delightful and ever-helpful Claudia, along with Rose and Paola, her terrific staff. The morning breakfast buffet is terrific with lots of delicious home baked goods. The breakfast bar also includes fresh fruit, cheese, and charcuterie, plus eggs for a little extra by request. Four of our group took a cooking class from Claudia; it was fun and the food we made for their dinner was outstanding and authentic Italian. Claudia cooks dinner only a couple of times per week, so be sure to arrange that in advance. We opted for dinner on the day we arrived, and it was a very relaxing dinner in the beautiful and quiet garden patio. The property includes a pool so bring a swimsuit. Because we didn't all have a rental car, Claudia even helped us arrange for transportation during the week. The location is at the bottom of the hilltop town of Cortona and it's a fun hike up to the top of Cortona through the vineyards, horse property, and olive trees. Or you can hike the road but it's not as fun, especially during heavy traffic times. Try to get a room near the pool toward the back of the property as some in our party had rooms on the second floor and could hear some road noise at night. Claudia was very responsive during our months of planning, giving us recommendations for restaurants and other places in the area. Overall, the experience at Il Sole del Sodo was wonderful and is highly recommended.
