I can safely say that the service is exquisite and personal, and the location and decoration is the best you can ask for in the area. Hotel Armentarola has a style of understated luxury lacking in mountain kitsch. The hotel has lovely wood-paneled rooms and divine beds. The superior rooms and the suites are very comfortable sizes - for a longer stay I'd recommend those. The spa is wonderful and in the summer not very crowded at all. It's located right on the ski lift/ hiking trails which are on the building's rear. Hotel guests are in mezza pensione, so get breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is the best buffet ever, and trust me, I've seen a lot of hotel breakfasts. There is an amazing variety of both sweet, salty and fresh items like fruit and vegetables, and cheese of every type, fresh yogurt, a dozen home-made jams, excellent slow rising bread and more. Dinner is a multi-course affair, not michelin star material but very close.
