I have been at this church off and on for 15 years, through dark times and better times. The…read morearchitecture is a bit strange but the church feels light and your attention is directed to the beautiful stained glass of the risen Christ. Some highlights were having father Pavel, Medina and Leoni as well as hearing father john nepil here. Currently the church is in revival with two fantastic, young and faithful priests, father Scott and father eric. I say faithful because I take the catechism seriously and i am not interested in cafeteria catholic teaching or liberal spewing from the pulpit. I need Jesus and the full and faithful teaching of the Church and both priests bring it. Blessings to all that attend here, as I myself now again do.

I attended a GriefShare group here after losing my dad to cancer in early 2025, hoping to find…read moresupport and community during a really difficult time. I appreciated that they offer grief resources, and I do think the intention behind the program is good. However, by the third session I realized it wasn't the right fit for me. The group was very heavily faith-based and strongly Christian-centered, which may work well for some people, but I didn't feel there was much space for those of different beliefs who are simply seeking grief support. I also felt the facilitation could have been stronger. One participant dominated most of the discussion each session, which made it hard for others to share or feel heard. The group size was also quite large for a single facilitator, which contributed to that issue. Unfortunately, instead of feeling supported, I often left feeling worse, so I decided to stop attending. I'm grateful they provide resources, but I would recommend this group primarily for people specifically looking for Christian-based grief support rather than general grief counseling.

I am glad to know that there is a church that stands with women, believes Black Lives Matter and actively participates in anti-racist actions and teachings, and supports the lgbt community. Many churches preach "come as you are", but calvary puts it into practice.

Attended a funeral here. It's a hidden oasis of serenity that was unexpected. The busy streets…read morearound it mask the quiet inside. There is a little road to enter the parking lot which is marked by a sign. And it's an unassuming building. The staff were so careful with attendees, recording information and providing hand sanitizer. We were then allowed to proceed to the guest book and funeral display. It was an uplifting ceremony and more of a celebration of life. The stained glass windows were beautiful and the garden area outside lush. As we walked to the internment site for ashes, the wind blew some flowers off the trees which swirled around us in a cascade of delicate pink. It was perfect. The internment ceremony was simple but sweet. I think I will visit again because it is a nice spot for quiet reflection and contemplation.
