I could go on and on (and have) about the Vonlane service for a trip to DFW from Houston. I booked the bus trip about a month ago and knew to select a single seat just by reading the website. I boarded the bus from Marriott Woodlands waterway and found it easy to park in the self park and walk across. I checked my bag in and boarded the bus. They check your license and give your seat assignment. Our bus loaded quickly and departed right at 215pm. Makayla was our attendant and she was very nice and passed the tray of snacks around several times. She got us soft drinks, bottled water, offered a fleece blanket, eye mask, ear plugs and a variety of other things you might need on a road trip. It was like taking a first class flight. You could order adult beverages if you want for a charge. The ride was smooth and seats comfortable. I didn't use the restroom but many people did. The bus only seats 22 people so it was super quiet. They ask that you speak in library voice. I don't think I will ever drive again. We were dropped off at the Doubletree at Love Field (DAL) and I took an uber to pick up a rental. Upon return, I had the same great experience. I was early and the bus was a little late but they sent a message. We made it back in good time regardless. Amanda and Avery were our attendants. Very convenient to hop on the bus with a bathroom lol and ride in very comfortable seats. Note, this review is for the Dallas to Houston leg. The service on the Austin to Dallas leg was 3 stars at BEST. This one started much more auspiciously with a biscotti while showing our DL and blankets, a tray with choice of Tylenol, face masks, Len's wipes etc. She then came and took our lunch order and guess what? You didn't have to pry the menu out of her! The snack tray was actually at eye level vs straining to see what was available! My friend who was traveling the one leg with me said it wasn't the experience she was used to. Suffice to say, her trip back to Austin and mine to Houston are much better- Arion is a champ, so sweet, accommodating and always smiling with all requests. read more

Very convenient new route out of Plano. For the most part this is an excellent experience. My driver down offered a slightly smoother ride than my driver back (re acceleration and braking) but this was minor. Traffic of course will have an influence over your total travel time but I was happy with the experience and would do it again. read more

Amazing bus line. This was our 2nd time to use Vonlane from Dallas to Houston. Convenient pickup location at Double Tree in Dallas. Staff is excellent and so far always ON TIME. I live in DFW and travel to Houston regularly for work. Flying from any of the 4 airports was always miserable, and travel took an entire day, as I never once had a flight leave on time. Driving door to door would be more than 5 hours, more than I could do and still get any work done that day. Vonlane has been the best solution! I can and have either slept or read a book or take work calls and done Teams video links during the ride. Service is excellent, customer service answers with a real person and they are super helpful and flexible if I've need to make travel changes, even at the last minute. Seating is comfortable, restrooms on board are spotless. So many yummy snacks and the meals are tasty when offered. Very punctual, only had one inbound bus delayed and they texted, called and emailed me with plenty of advanced notice. Best thing to happen to intercity travel across the gigantic state of Texas. I've used Vonlane many times to go to FW to visit my mom. Every ride over the past three years has been wonderful. Today I returned to Austin, where I live, from Fort Worth and as my Lyft driver was about to pull out of the Doubletree parking lot with me where the bus was parked I heard a guy yelling to "stop". We stopped the car and I opened the door and the steward had run all the way across the big parking lot chasing our car to give me some food I had left on the bus. That is definitely going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I received the food. I hope he gets some bonus points, I wish I could remember his name. I travel back and forth between Houston regularly for work. That drive sucks. I tried flying and just getting pushed back once or delayed makes you curse not making that 4 hour drive (one way) yourself. So I took the Vonlane. The trip down was great, no incident. On the trip back, it broke down on the side of the highway. Even then, it was STILL the best method of travel. Not even gonna subtract a star for that one. The is the best way to travel. It's faster than flying when you add in the time needed for checking at an airport, less hassle and it's cleaner and so much nicer!!! Plus, it's way more comfortable, roomy seats with leg room, they offer multiple rounds of snacks and lunch or breakfast on most trips. And the food was really good! Had a turkey and Swiss sandwich that was fresh and loaded with meat. They also offer other amenities like blankets, pillows, various toiletry items (Kleenex, eye masks and much more). Free WiFi. It's THE best way to travel to Austin or Houston from Fort Worth. I wish they would add Lubbock and Oklahoma City! From the reduced the hour drive to (and from) the airport. I had a terrible experience with Vonlane and their unaccommodating services. I ended up in a situation before my trip where my cat was injured and I needed to bring her with me. I assured them she would already be sedated from her medication due to her injury and would be in a carrier, but wouldn't allow me to bring her even though they allow dogs which they claim are "easier to calm with treats." When I finally did take the trip, the bus arrived and departed 45 min late. The WiFi and charging stations stopped working a half hour into our trip and nothing was done to fix it. We also made a stop on the side of the road waiting there for a period of time with no update on why we'd stopped. Not great for a "luxury trip" and not worth the money. read more

Great experience from start to finish. So much easier than flying. Just hand your luggage to the driver and get on. No waiting to board. Inside it is more comfortable and roomier than a coach airline seat. Service is great and they are constantly waiting on you from the moment you arrive with water, even Kleenex or ibuprofin, snacks, meals if over lunch, snacks, drinks for purchase, free wifi.
