To my amusement I discovered that this shop/cafe has an extensive English selection, but I had no problem finding some smart looking French volumes to read as I sipped my superb coffee. The ambiance was thoughtful, the service was friendly, and I'd happily go back there on my next trip through Aix.

They have a small café where you can order tea, scones and the like. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to you. You pay at that counter or at the bookstore counter at the front of the business when you are done. There is seating upstairs were many of the foreign language books are. It is an enjoyable place to have a snack and read. A lot of students hang out here. They do expect you to purchase something if you are going to occupy some of the tables.

Le magasin n'est pas spécialisé; il est très agréable d'y flaner sur les trois étages. Le sous-sol est consacré aux manuels universitaires. Since we bought so many table linens for ourselves and as gifts we had to buy an additional duffle bag so we could take all the table linen home with us.
