This place is wonderful place to shop for track and field stuff. If you are looking for Running shoes and Running gear this place has things the mall doesn't at competitive prices. Go on line and give them a shot!

Nice selection. Knowledgeable sales person. Good prices. My student's coach recommended this shoe store for school track running shoes.

They also carry track and field gear, while I wasn't in the market for that, I did see that they had a lot of gear available.

This store is huge and had a lot of merchandise for different sports. There were 2 floors and we were assisted by a friendly associate who pulled our online order. After trying it on, my husband thought he'd need another size and another associate went to grab it for us. It was a better fit, so we went in line to make the even exchange. Lines moved quickly and associates were helpful.

We assumed the item might've sold out, no longer in stock, or just bad inventory all around. We decided to go in the store to get what we needed. We asked the cashier what happened with our order and he had no idea. We asked if they had it in stock or if another location had it. They went to check and luckily there was one Betts Jersey left in my size. We also signed up to get $20 off purchases of $100 or more. We did all that at the store and when it came to checking out, it turns out the coupon wasn't available until after a few days or something. We ended paying full price, no problem. The manager explained to us, if we wanted, we could bring the jersey back and repurchase after we got the coupon to get that $20 back. I didn't get the coupon until a week later which was to expire in 2 days. I went back to the store with the coupon forgetting that the $20 was actually NOT a free $20 off anything. It was $20 off ANOTHER purchase for $100+. So basically, a trick to get you to buy more, which I didn't end up using. The coupon wasn't quite clear and tricky to be honest. Beware of those marketing schemes and ads you see online or in store! The only upside was that the staff were very understanding and helpful. We went back looking for another shirt but they didn't have it in stock and they were nice enough to call the El Segundo location to hold the item for us. We went to that location, picked up the item easily, and there were no issues. Just keep an eye on the sales and ads -- and know what you're really getting. Another suggestion for this store is to keep better inventory. There had a ton of the same stuff but limited in other areas.

Update: After I left this review (that I also left on Google), Road Runner Sports asked me to email…read morethem. I did, and I was later told that the Torrance manager and team had "touched base" with me, which is inaccurate. The only interaction I had with the store after my purchase was when I returned the same day to try to return the shoes. No one from the store ever contacted me afterward to follow up or try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, no resolution was offered. Still the worse experience I've ever had. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. ---- Road Runner Sports started as a promising experience but turned into one of the most frustrating customer service situations I've had. I came in to buy running shoes, and the initial process seemed great. The associate scanned my feet (which was actually pretty cool), had me try insoles, and brought out three shoe options that fit my profile. However, communication was difficult, he was mostly mumbling, and I had to repeatedly ask him to clarify what he was saying. When I decided on a pair of ASICS, he immediately tried to upsell the insoles (around $120), even though I had only tried the shoes with those insoles, not with the original ones. That felt a bit misleading. At checkout, he also pushed the VIP membership, saying it would give me 90 days to try the shoes and return them if needed, making it sound like that flexibility depended on being a member. We declined. When I got home and tried to run in the shoes, I couldn't even last 90 seconds, they just didn't work for me. We called the store (using the number listed online) and were told that as long as the shoes looked brand new, we could return them. That gave us confidence to go back. Unfortunately, the in-store experience during the return was completely different. The associate told us: * The shoes did not qualify as "brand new" * We could not get a refund to the original payment method unless we were members * The only option was a gift card Then, again, we were offered the membership as a solution. The inconsistency between what we were told on the phone and what happened in-store, combined with the repeated upselling, made this a very frustrating experience. What started as a helpful, professional fitting ended with unclear policies and poor communication.

(I wish I remembered his name, I thought all my experiences would be like this) ... fast forward 2-3 years later my mom wanted to buy me running shoes for my bday so I thought ROAD RUNNER !!!She will love this experience ! ... we walk in, busy as the time before except this time everyone looks at us and ignores us...I still don't think much of it so we head over to the shoes at this point I'm aware of the list so I'm waving people down politely and 2 people literally rush past me while saying "someone will help you I'm helping someone else" ... so I figured they would communicate with each other that we needed to be added to the list...at this point everyone is aware we're around (giving me look, and even smirking my way)... after a while I went up to one specific guy who kept giving me dirty looks and told him bro I need help and in an angry tone he tells me there's a list and I told him I know it's not my first time here l, he adds me to the list (this is 15-20 mins in) ... same guy comes up to us with a non welcoming attitude and I ask him to show me which "wide" options they have and he tells me without even giving me options "if you what wide online and order them from online" so I ask "you don't have any in stock" and he replies "some look around it will say it, do you need anything else ?" At that point I got the hint and just left....what broke my heart is that it was so obvious that my mom asked me "why did they treat you like that ? Maybe next time you should wear your hat..." BROOOOOO!!!! I have no clue what happened to this shop but it was the most embarrassing experience I had in front of my mother and for them to make her feel like I need to cover up my tattoos to be treated equally was sad... BTW ! I also pay to be an "exclusive member"

All that's left is Big 5 and Dick's. REI doesn't count, as they're too niche. This location has a lot of merchandise and it's inherent problem is the aesthetics of the layout of the store. It's way too crowded and cramped for shopping and could use an expansion and makeover where it feels well-lit and spacious. It's sort of the difference between Target and Wal-Mart. I think Big 5 could use new branding as a company. It's a good store with good prices. They do "over coupon" as Bed Bath and Beyond did. You can always anticipate a $5 off of $15 type value-pac FSI mailer coupon and almost won't shop without a coupon. It's a longterm flawed business strategy. Their prices are quite good in many ways. I went shopping for shoes and they had shoes on sale for $30-40 where I went next door to DSW and most of their comparable shoes were $50-55. You'd think DSW whose only business is selling shoes, would have a competitive edge, but it doesn't and didn't, at least for active/athletic shoes compared to Big 5. I'd say check Big 5 out first or last, but don't buy any shoes until you've visited a Big 5 like this one. Parking is fairly easy in this outdoor strip mall of sort, that has a Sizzler, Harbor Freight and other businesses.

I did come back to demo another racket and this time was greeted by Gee. She suggested I demo the Yonex Percept 97 or the Babalot Pure Drive. I tried out the Yonex racket. In the end, I went with what I was used to. Had to go Wilson. Lol. There demo program is pretty cool. If I remember it correctly, It's $20 to demo a racket for 5 days. And in those 5 days you can come back and demo other rackets that they have. If you decide to purchase a racket at the end of the 5 days, they will deduct $20 from the price of the racket. Service: Everyone was really friendly. Love how this is a family run business. Parking: Never had an issue finding parking. I did pass the parking lot the first time I rolled here though. Lol. Will I be back? Of course! Definitely will come back if I need to get my racket restrung. I'm also looking to get a second Wilson Blade.
