I wish I could give Dr. Vu a better review, I really do. He is very nice, and takes his time with you, once he finally comes in (there is generally a long wait from the time you check in to the time he sees you). That said, I ended up having a very a very disappointing outcome from my rhinoplasty, which he preformed 5.5 years ago. I came to him to have the tip of my nose thinned out. He ended up convincing me that I also needed to have a dorsal implant placed to raise the height of the bridge of my nose. He said that if he thinned the cartilage at the tip and did not augment the bridge that it would look like I had some sort of "syndrome" (his words, not mine), because my nose was short and that combined with the tip reduction would make it too small. So I trusted him and went forward with his recommendation. Initially, I was not totally dissatisfied with the appearance, but it definitely took some getting used to. I felt it was (at least), better than it had been before. But as time passed, the implant became mobile and would shift, especially as I slept. I would literally have to "snap" it back into place several times during the night, very uncomfortable. I called his office about the problem several years ago to ask if this was normal, and was told the nurse would ask Dr. Vu and call me back, which never happened. I again called a few weeks later, and was told I'd have to schedule an appointment to have Dr. Vu asses it. I had since moved to San Diego, so this was not a possibility. Another year or so went by and it actually began to extrude at the tip (you could see it beginning to poke through the skin), so I decided enough was enough. He had told me at the time he performed the surgery that if I was not happy with it, he could remove it in his office under a local. Again I called and asked what the procedure would entail, and how much it would cost. I was so desperate at this point, I was willing to plan a trip North to get it done. As it turns out, the price they quoted me was several hundred dollars more than I had been quoted by a local surgeon here in San Diego for the very same thing. No brainer, right? About ten days ago I had the damn thing removed by this local doctor, and am so much happier with how it looks and feels. I feel like if Dr. Vu had just done what I initially went to him for, instead of making me feel like I would look like I had something wrong with me if I didn't, that this could have all been avoided. As it is, I ended up spending another $2,200 to correct this problem down here. I scheduled an appointment for 3:45 and showed up right on time. At 5:30, I left extremely disappointed after sitting in a room for close to two hours and not being seen. After expressing my concerns to the receptionist, I was told if I could just wait a little bit longer, I would be next. I understand the doctor was busy but to wait that long shows an absolute disrespect of my time! Once expressing my concerns to others, I found out this is a common practice at Dr. Vu's office. This is my third time I get my Botox treatment with Dr. Vu. I use to go to another local plastic surgeon until a friend recommended him to me. Love the Staff specially May., She is so sweet and she is always greeting me with a big smiley like she is so happy to see me. I always comment to her that she looks like she just been hired (always happy, very nice with customers and unlike other clinics that makes you feel like you are annoying them). I had a 9:30am appointment. I waited 1 hour and only after I asked how much longer, the receptionist told me it will be quite a bit longer and if I would like to come back. First, I believe in mutual respect of each other's time. If I knew this, I could've come back 1 hour later as I have things to do. What is the point of having an appointment if they don't care about it or even have the common courtesy to communicate. I asked them what was the appointment before me. I was told 9:15am. I then questioned if they normally give "15mins" between appointments and why they would do that to be so inconsiderate to my time. I had no response. I will update this after my 1 1/2 wait, maybe longer. Update: I waited another 30mins in the evaluation room, got fed up, then left. This was a complete waste of my time. DO NOT go there! Dr. Vu is pleasure to work with. He got a great personality, explains things fully, and takes his time with his patients. I had an appointment next door at Delta eye. Following that appointment I stopped by Dr Vu's office with no appointment. I thought I would simply get some information as I had been researching Plastic Surgery for a while. I did not expect to receive very much information as I was certain I couldn't speak to the doctor and the office staff was probably be getting ready to go as it was around 4:00. I was pleasantly surprised to find the office staff extremely helpful. They gave me information regarding how some procedures were performed, price ranges, and various information regarding types of Plastic Surgery. I was so impressed I made an appointment the next evening as that was the night they were open for late appointments. My consultation appointment was at 5:30, the last appointment of the day. I waited about 15 or 20 minutes. Average for most doctor offices and much less than some. Dr Vu was very informative. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. I have decided to get some work done with Dr Vu. I will update following my procedure but thus far it has been a very positive experience. read more

Had closed surgery with doc Vu, meaning I was just sedated in his office and he just chiseled my hump. He didn't even chisel the full hump. Needless to say I'm paying more now trying to find the right doctor to fix this. Take my advise and save our 2,300. Just have open surgery with another surgeon. Ps I have a coworker that I found out went with doc Vu which had the closed surgery the first time like I did then went back a year later paid 7500k (which he said was a discount) for open surgery and she still hates it. Take my advise and go elsewhere. Keep this in mind why on his website would he never have before and after pictures? It's been like that for years. hello everyone this is a warning!! just letting you know before you get a procedure done at doctor vu. don't get it from him go some where else the first procedure was fine but the second one the breast lift he did a horrible job. he left my areola (nipple) one big and mis-shaped, the other one small i asked him to fix his error since i payed $5000 cash and he said no that i had to pay him $400 dollars to fix the error that he did. i don't want anyone to go through this so please don't get anything done by him. now i don't want to take my clothes off in front of my husband with unevenly areolas!! do not recommend anyone because he will botch you and then try to charge you to fix the error!!.. read more

I Am transsexual (M to F) meaning my ID says F on it and i was asked by one of the staff members " should i go ahead and put M on your paper work" No, you go by my ID. Secondly i was quoted $7500 for saline implants and was told that was a discount, when other doctors and even high end doctors in L.A doesnt even charge that much. I re-located to this area and wanted to get my laser treatments and Botox by Dr Vu. However, after arriving right on time for my appointment, I waited 45 minutes in the waiting room, then 30 minutes longer in the exam room. There were several other patients, apparently all scheduled for the same time period, in the waiting room and in other exam rooms. After inquiring and being told the doctor would get to me sometime soon, I decided to leave. I informed the office staff that I will just commute back to Advanced Laser Center in Modesto.
