We stumbled upon this restaurant and so glad we stopped here for dinner. We didn't have reservations on a busy Friday night but they squeezed our group in without any hesitations. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was Oscar and he took great care of us. Everyone was so friendly, including the manager. The food was delicious! We ordered three grilled seafood plates and pescheri (spelling?) Norma pasta at our table. Both excellent choices. The grilled shrimps were so sweet and had a lovely flavor. Horse meatballs were ordered...yes HORSE meatballs, and they were delicious! Great spot with decent size portions, good AC inside, English menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. Ordered a bunch of starters, which are smaller than the main entrees, but 2-3 are good for the table including; Caprese Salad, Sicilian Eggplant Caponata, Eggplant Parmigiana, and Oven baked potatoes with scamorza cheese. The Spaghetti with Shrimps, dried Tomatoes, Fennels and bread crumb was okayyy, but the Paccheri Norma style with Tomato sauce and Fresh Ricotta cheese was SO good! The Horse meatballs were so tender and tasted basically the same as ground meat, so I say explore and try them out. This location is also only a 5 minute walk right from the Catania Cathedral in a popular tourist area, where you can walk around and do basic shopping. The servers were helpful, all spoke English, the inside of the restaurant was clean and had solid AC! read more

Wonderful restaurant next to the fish market. I had the risotto with seafood and it came with muscles, clams, squid, crawfish, and shrimp. Pretty large portion and well priced. It's outside with a lot of foot traffic and even some live music. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended! read more

Our first meal in Sicily, and it was one of the best on the island. Our waiter - Ninni, was terrific! He made our experience super special. We had the Beccafico sardines and the squid ink pasta that Ninni recommended - delicious. The house wine was terrific as well. We met some friends at the table next to us where we tried the horse meat patty, which was delicious as far as horse meat goes. The meal ended with some mandarin and orange digestive on the house. Stumbled upon this place as I visited the fish market in Catania. It was lunch time and my friend had seen someone eating a fried fish plate and wanted the same. While it wasn't on the menu, our server, Gabriela(sp?) said he could get it for us so the decision was made where to eat. We sat at a table outside. The menu is available in English which made ordering easier. We had some of their house white wine, and I ordered some spaghetti with clams to go with my friends seafood plate. The food came up quickly and was quite good. Our server spoke very good English which was a surprise in this town that is just starting to cater to tourists. Turns out he learned it while playing PlayStation with Italian subtitles so that explained his American accent! And he was a great server- very attentive and bending over backwards to make sure we were satisfied! Another surprise? The bathroom. Hands down this was the BEST bathroom i was in during my entire 12 days in Sicily. There was a toilet seat on the toilet, hand-soap, hand dryer and toilet paper. And it was super clean. Given we were in the market area I expected so much less. Our bill with s couple glasses of wine and 2 entrees was about 35 Euro so pretty reasonable as well. If you find yourself in Catania- check this place out. The food and service are worth a visit. . . Not to mention that amazing bathroom!! read more

The mixed fried seafood dish was abundant and deliciously seasoned; the mixed cheese platter with honey and jam very nice; I could have passed on the grilled mixed veggies, overcooked and flavorless.. dessert of cotto was also something I would pass on to, love ricotta cheese and pistachios however their combination was not to my liking.. but finally when we got the bill, tip or service fee of 10% was included however waiter said all 10% was to go directly to the owner and not a servers tip.. so beware! Do I believe him? No! But left an additional 5 euros.. Also as we were having our lunch vendors off the streets were allowed in the restaurant to sell their wares at the tables.. not acceptable! 3 stars would be generous.. read more

We visited this restaurant on a recent trip to Sicily. We loved it. The staff was great and the food better. I had the Spada (Swordfish) grilled and my wife had the pasta Fresca which she loved. We shared a meat and cheese board and a bottle of their house white wine. The food was fresh, which we expected being right there in the market. I would go back there again read more
