Raquel did not seem to know about documents being valid only three months, resubmitting our of date papers and because of the confusion losing money in travel plans and other expenses. Should have been a simple process made very difficult by an inept solicitor. A word of advice when seeking residency in Spain use a local solicitor or gestor not one recommended by TV programmes.

Despite some skill gained through practice, I still find it difficult to read the handwritten documents from that era. When the exact text is critical, I need a professional, and Stilogo is absolutely outstanding. I contacted them through their website, sent in an order from Jefferson, Georgia, USA for the transcription of a 5 page letter that was critical to my research, and received back two transcriptions, one a legible and accurate rendering of the document using the original spelling and punctuation, and the other an adaptation of the transcription using modern language and punctuation to increase readability. The fee was 25 euros per page and the service was fast and responsive. I was very pleased with the service received and highly recommend Stilogo to anyone needing similar work. They do language consulting (copy and proofreading, style editing, rewrites of technical articles, prospectuses, brochures, surveys, etc.), translations, paleographic transcriptions, and multilingual web design.
