The friendly and obliging staff do their best to keep the shop in tip top shape and constantly rearrage and redress the window displays to maximise exposure for the items that they have in stock. They also have a glass gabinet in the middle of the shop where they nicely display any ornamental goods which shows them at their best rather than just be stuck on a shelf. The staff do work hard in this particular charity shop.

The shops wares are primarily clothes, with an assortment of other items like books, DVDs, games and gifts to name but a few. They run a Gift Aid scheme which sees the items you give labelled with a unique number. You are then sent a letter detailing how much your wares have generated for the charity, a nice personal touch. St Giles can also accept larger items like mats and rugs, but its best to ring ahead first.

Unfortunately, due to it's location it actually misses out on passing trade as this is no longer the main route into the town but having said that they pick up quite a bit of trade on market days because the market is located down that end of town. They keep lovely window displays and really try to theme everything. In the summer they will promote their wedding dresses and have them beautifully displayed in the window with all the wedding shoes and accessories that they have to hand. They have the best window displays in town.

A lot of shops have come and gone from this In Shops and there's often articles in the local newspapers about high rents. Those which do survive in here provide a worthwhile service to the town centre. The cafe, Munchies, is the only proper sit-down cafe in the town centre (not counting the likes of BHS and M&S but they don't count as proper), whilst the small cobblers has cut many keys for me when I've lost them. There's also the obligatory newsagents, a mobile phone shop, a hairdressers, a card shop, a hardware stall, a small guitar shop, a computer game shop, a t-shirt printers and more... To be honest there's a good deal of choice in here to get a lot of useful goods and services at reasonable prices. Nothing to make the effort to visit but definitely one for the locals.

This is quite a large store, even with a Post Office at the back and a good selection of stationary. As with most places in Stoke, I feel a review for this place is really needed, as they hasn't been one for over 7 years. It is actually quite an unusual time to be reviewing this store with its' closure confirmed in April, with a likely relocation on the cards, although one hasn't been confirmed, which is a shame, as based on my visit today, this seems to be one of their better stores. This store is a good size, and isn't too big either, it has a decent range of books, a good range of stationary and parcel equipment as well as maths sets, tutor books etc. The staff here seemed okay, they didn't really stand out, but they seemed polite. The store seemed quiet on my visit, with small numbers of staff and customers in the store, They had one self-service till, which makes me think as this store didn't really seem busy, maybe they are right to be shutting up shop soon, as they are not getting the customers in. It's in a mid-floor position in the Potteries center too, so it is in a good location and I feel too large of a store ruins the vibe a little, this store is slightly nicer and more modern than some of my local stores in Middleton,Manchester and The Manchester Arndale too. It's a nice store, with good selection and average staff and in a good location, it is just a shame about the pricing of certain items, but still deserves a solid 3!

I do shop in charity shops and I do like Loros as a charity and some of their other stores, but…read morethis one ive never been in a loros ive disliked apart from this one and oakham, I was looking on a rail and the cashier decided she wanted to look on that rail to next to me i felt intimidated! and the prices here are to expensive, a ruined pair of religion faux leather pants 5 pounds!! when the faux leather was pealing! I know the place looks Tudor and im guessing rents are expensive here, but it wasnt charity at all. If you are going to price your items high make sure they are decent no stains as new nearly! or clearly put on a 1 pound rack, and dont follow customers around its rude! I know im an honest person who doesnt steal but felt threatened
