I called the second -Tony's Tire and Auto Repair, and was able to get through to somebody who promptly told me that he was working on his day off, and was done for the day and basically told me I would be stranded lakeside for the night 35 miles from civilization!!!!!!!!!!!! Venard Tire & Services performed a small miracle on a recent family vacation for me and if I could…read moregive 10 stars for a rating, this place is well deserving of it. My family was heading east on I-90 from visiting Badlands National Park when the tire pressure warning showed low tire pressure in one of the tires. I pulled off highway and noticed a nail or screw in the tire and knew we had to drive on the donut to get somewhere that could fix the flat. Unfortunately we were 900 miles from home and it was the Sunday before the 4th of July at 3pm in the afternoon so we figured we were going to be taking rural highways to the nearest large city of Sioux Falls in hope of finding some place open on the 4th of July. My wife called two of the closest places we found on Google maps and both had recordings that they were out until after the holidays. To our surprise, Vernard picked up the phone and said that they were closed, but to come on in and he'd take a look. We had to drive about an hour at 50mph on the spare tire and the gentleman not only waited for us, but called to check if we were OK during our hour drive. When we arrived, he had the tire fully repaired within 20 minutes of us arriving and then charged us his standard tire repair rate on a day when his shop was actually closed. We thanked him and gave him more than what he was trying to charge us and we were then on our way. A small 1.5 hour deviation from a family road trip was so worth it and showed myself and my family the importance of being kind humans to each other and served as a reminder to always go out of your way to help others in need.
